Sculpted Sound: The Chronoswiss Q-Repeater Scream & Blue Note In Detail
Chronoswiss introduces the Q-Repeater Scream and Q-Repeater Blue Note, two timepieces that combine a rare mechanical complication—the quarter repeater—with a contemporary visual design. The watches are housed in titanium and powered by a mechanical movement with historical roots, blending the brand’s archival watchmaking tradition with a modern aesthetic approach.

Titanium Architecture and Dimensionality
Both timepieces utilize a Grade 5 titanium case, notable for its strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and hypoallergenic properties. The case measures 42mm in diameter and has a height of 16.2mm, proportions that accommodate the complex mechanics of the repeater function while offering a bold wrist presence. The design integrates double knurling on the bezel and caseback—a signature feature of Chronoswiss—providing tactile grip and visual structure. The large onion crown and repeater pusher at 10 o’clock are rendered with polished accents, contrasting the vertically satin-brushed mid-case surface. A domed glassbox sapphire crystal adds volume and distortion at the edges, enhancing depth perception across the dial.

Quarter Repeater Function
The centerpiece of both watches is the quarter repeater complication, which chimes the hours and quarter-hours on demand via a slide pusher. The mechanical repeater system is visible from the dial side, with polished hammers and gongs located around 1 o’clock. These components are part of a rebuilt and refined C.126 calibre, originally developed in the 1990s specifically for Chronoswiss and now restored in-house at the Lucerne manufacture. The acoustic properties are enhanced by the lightweight titanium case, which aids sound propagation.
Multi-Level Regulator Dials
The dials of both editions follow the regulator layout typical of Chronoswiss, with a central minutes hand and separate sub-dials for hours and seconds at 12 and 6 o’clock, respectively. The construction is multi-layered and skeletonized, revealing both the movement architecture and decorative elements.

Q-Repeater Scream uses chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coatings in vibrant electric blue, orange, purple, and green tones across its openworked bridges. The hand-guilloché bridges, executed in electric blue and green, add textural contrast. All time indicators—including hands and markers—are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low light.
Q-Repeater Blue Note opts for a tonal approach, featuring navy blue CVD-coated bridges, paired with silver-toned hour and seconds counters. The peripheral minutes ring is a galvanic blue structure embedded with three-dimensional ceramic Super-LumiNova blocks, shaped like rounded markers at five-minute intervals. The hour disc also features ceramic SLN markers. Two deep blue guilloché bridges add continuity to the overall color scheme.
Each timepiece comes with an individual number engraved on one of the thin bridges of the openworked dial, enhancing the exclusivity of each piece and reinforcing its status as part of a strictly limited run.
Movement Specifications
At the heart of both models is the automatic Calibre C.126, a restored movement equipped with a quarter repeater module. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and contains 42 jewels, with a power reserve of 35 hours. The movement features a Glucydur balance wheel and Nivarox hairspring, components known for thermal stability and resistance to magnetic interference. The skeletonized rotor is finished with Côtes de Genève, complementing the openworked theme of the dial.

Straps and Pricing
The Q-Repeater Scream is paired with a grey nubuck leather strap, lined with orange and purple Alcantara, while the Blue Note comes with a blue calfskin strap lined with light grey Alcantara. Both models are secured with a titanium buckle and are limited to 25 pieces each. The retail price for each model is CHF 38,000 / EUR 42,500.
