Sculpted In Time: Vacheron Constantin’s Celestial Tribute To 270 Years Of Watchmaking
In 2025, Vacheron Constantin celebrates its 270th anniversary, reaffirming its mastery of haute horlogerie through a remarkable new trilogy from the Les Cabinotiers atelier. Following the record-breaking Solaria wristwatch earlier this year — a marvel boasting 41 complications — the Maison now presents three unique creations that merge mechanical complexity with artistic craftsmanship. Collectively known as La Quête 270th Anniversary Series, these one-of-a-kind pieces pay tribute to the long-standing connection between watchmaking and astronomy.

Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon “Myth of Pleiades”
Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology and the star cluster of the Pleiades, this creation embodies both artistic and horological excellence. Its 20 mm-thick 18k pink gold case is hand-engraved in bas-relief over the course of 450 hours, illustrating scenes of the Seven Sisters and adorned with diamonds symbolizing the stars.

Inside beats the Calibre 1990, a movement first introduced in the legendary Reference 57260. The watch showcases a bi-axial armillary tourbillon on the left side of the dial, complemented by biretrograde hour and minute indicators on the right — a complex and captivating display of time in motion.
Vacheron Constantin, Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon Myth of Pleiades, 9890C/000R-273C. Openworked dial, pink gold case, 45 mm diameter, 20.13 mm thickness, sapphire crystal. Blue alligator leather strap with a pink gold folding clasp. Calibre 1990, hand wound movement, retrograde hour and minutes, armillary tourbillon, 18,000 Vph, 45 jewels, 299 components, 60 hours of power reserve. Price: upon request.
Les Cabinotiers Cosmica Duo Grand Complication
The Cosmica Duo is a double-faced masterpiece in 47 mm white gold, uniting 24 complications within a new movement derived from the celebrated Calibre 2756.

On the main blue dial, a perpetual calendar, second time zone with day/night indicator, and a rotating celestial map of the Northern Hemisphere mark the passage of sidereal time. The reverse side reveals the skeletonized mechanism, showcasing true solar time, the running equation of time, sunrise and sunset indications, the age and phases of the Moon, and a minute repeater with tourbillon.
The Cosmica Duo exemplifies the Maison’s ability to combine astronomical precision with mechanical harmony — a rare balance of art and science.

Les Cabinotiers Grand Complication High Jewellery “Moon Dust”
The Moon Dust celebrates the heliocentric vision of Copernicus through a dazzling composition of 16 complications and extensive gem-setting artistry. Housed in a 47 mm white gold case hand-engraved with celestial motifs, it features a blue hand-guilloché dial adorned with a tourbillon at 6 o’clock, perpetual calendar, equation of time, power reserve, and minute repeater torque indicator.

The reverse side extends the astronomical narrative with sidereal time, zodiac cycles, solstices and equinoxes, seasons, and lunar phases.
In total, the gem-setting requires 230 hours of meticulous work, including 200 baguette-cut and 165 brilliant-cut diamonds in snow-set patterns that illuminate the lugs and case sides.

Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication
To complete the anniversary trilogy, Vacheron Constantin revisits one of its most revered celestial masterpieces — the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication. Two exclusive versions have been unveiled: one in white gold dedicated to Ptolemy, and another in pink gold honoring Copernicus.

Powered by the Calibre 3600, comprising 514 components and measuring only 8.70 mm thick, the double-sided movement integrates 23 complications and a three-week power reserve. The Celestia displays civil, solar, and sidereal time, each governed by its own gear train, along with a perpetual calendar, equation of time, tide level indication, and more — all regulated by a one-minute tourbillon.
It stands as one of the most sophisticated astronomical wristwatches ever created.
