Roger Dubuis Launches Limited Edition Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph For Lamborghini SC63
As here yesterday we addressed the subject with the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 in the background, the engines of many automotive sport brands begin to heat up as the 24 Hours of Le Mans approaches and the same goes for many of the watchmaking brands connected to the motorsports, and the latest to come to the fore is Roger Dubuis.
In a partnership that began in 2017 with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Roger Dubuis now presents a special edition of its Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph that marks the debut of the Italian sports car team in the Le Mans Daytona Hybrid Series with its SC63 hypercar.
The exquisite chronograph with a set of pending patents presented for the first time last year now arrives in the colours of the Lamborghini SC63 in Verde Mantis (green) and Nero Noctis (black).
The robust lightweight carbon case measuring 45mm in diameter and 17.30mm thick, comes with a notched ceramic bezel outlined in green and with a 60-minute scale in white, a scratched crown with a red ring flanked by two rectangular pushers, glass sapphire on both sides and 100m waterproof.
The open-worked dial comes forged with black bridges, a minute/second rehaut in green and red followed by a scaled tachymeter ring in white with lumed plots that, like the tips of the hands outlined in red, are filled with Super-Luminova. We can also find a date window at 6 o’clock and a 120º minute counter at 3 o’clock with green lacquered numbers and a tripartite hand that works in partnership with the red chronograph centre seconds hand.
At its heart operates the In-house Caliber RD780 automatic movement with 310 components and 39 jewels, which runs 28,800 Vph offering 3 days of power reserve and which comes with a Pinçon de Genève stamped finish.
The watch arrives attached to a black rubber strap with green textured padding and red stitching with a titanium folding clasp.
It is a limited edition of just 88 pieces that hit the market with a price of CHF 104,500 plus taxes.
