Revving Up: 19th Caramulo Motorfestival Returns To Portugal
The 19th Caramulo Motorfestival, Portugal’s largest motor festival, organized by the Museu do Caramulo and the Automóvel Club de Portugal, will take place in Serra do Caramulo from September 6-8. The event will feature the Michelin Historic Ramp race, showcasing around 140 classic and competition cars, including pre-war and Formula V cars, and touring cars in the Chronomasters and Speedmasters categories.
Renowned drivers like Filipe Albuquerque and Carlos Tavares will participate, with the main guest driver to be announced. Celebrations will mark the centenaries of MG, Fiat, and Opel, and anniversaries for Citroën, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Golf, and D-Day, featuring military vehicle parades.
Bikersville will highlight motorcycles and bicycles, while the Caramulo Museum will present permanent collections and the temporary “A Passion on Wheels – André Villas-Boas Collection” exhibition. The Caramulo Experience Center will showcase rare vehicles, including Formula 1 cars.
The festival offers free entry, family activities, an amusement park, an air show, and a challenge for visitors to dress in period attire for a chance to win prizes. For more details, visit www.motorfestival.pt.
