Rado Introduces Three New DiaStar Original Skeleton Limited Editions
Rado expands its DiaStar Original Skeleton collection with three new limited-edition models distinguished by vibrant blue, green, and red accents. Building on the success of previous skeletonized versions of the iconic DiaStar, the latest releases combine the collection’s unmistakable design with modern materials, open-worked mechanics, and seasonal color palettes.
A Design Icon Since 1962
First introduced in 1962, the DiaStar Original became known for its pioneering use of scratch-resistant materials and its distinctive oval-shaped case. More than six decades later, the collection retains its recognizable silhouette while incorporating contemporary manufacturing techniques and movement technology.

The new DiaStar Original Skeleton Limited Editions maintain the collection’s compact dimensions, measuring 38 mm in width, 45 mm lug-to-lug, and 11.90 mm in thickness. The signature convex bezel is crafted from Ceramos, Rado’s proprietary material that combines the durability of ceramic with the metallic appearance and luster of steel.
Two of the new references feature polished silver-colored Ceramos bezels with a radial brushed finish, paired with stainless steel middle cases and casebacks. The third version adopts a yellow gold-colored PVD treatment on both the Ceramos bezel and stainless steel case components, offering a warmer aesthetic.

Protecting the dial is a faceted sapphire crystal, one of the defining characteristics of the DiaStar design. A sapphire display caseback provides a clear view of the movement, while water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
Skeletonized Dial with Distinctive Color Accents
The focal point of each model is the open-worked dial, revealing much of the automatic movement beneath. The skeletonized architecture is framed by a colored chapter ring that matches the accompanying rubber strap.
All three versions retain signature DiaStar elements, including floating hour markers and Rado’s moving anchor logo.

The blue edition combines a blue chapter ring and rubber strap with rhodium-colored hands and markers filled with yellow Super-LumiNova. The green version pairs its green accents with gold-colored hands and indices featuring red luminous material. Completing the trio is a red model equipped with rhodium-colored hands and markers enhanced by green Super-LumiNova.
The contrasting colors create a distinctive visual identity for each reference while maintaining the technical appearance of the skeletonized display.
Automatic Calibre R808
Powering the collection is the automatic Rado Calibre R808, visible from both the dial side and through the transparent caseback.

The movement features 25 jewels and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Equipped with a Nivachron hairspring, the calibre offers enhanced resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variations. It also delivers an extended power reserve of up to 80 hours, allowing the watch to remain running for more than three days when not worn.
According to Rado, the movement is regulated in up to five positions to improve accuracy beyond standard performance requirements.
Matching Rubber Straps
Each model is paired with a color-matched rubber strap that complements the dial accents. The straps are equipped with Rado’s EasyClip system, enabling quick and tool-free strap changes. Stainless steel pin buckles complete the package, matching the finish of their respective cases.
