Race-Ready Elegance: Baltic’s Latest Tricompax For Tour Auto
Here is the second limited edition of the Baltic x Tour Auto, for the second time, the French watchmaking brand is the Official Timekeeper of the classic motorsport race better known as the Tour de France Automobile.
A journey that began two years ago that Baltic now renews, with a new limited edition of 500 pieces of the Tricompax chronograph, which, like the previous editions, and we remember that there were three, in addition to the 2022 limited edition, it also featured two regular editions, comes with the same configuration on the outside embracing the same 39.50mm stainless steel case.
On the outside, the watch comes dressed in a round case with a fixed bezel and a blue aluminium insert fitted with a tachymeter scale to help measure speeds, featuring a polished finish on the surfaces and brushed on the sides, sapphire glass, drilled lugs, crown at 3 o’clock flanked by two pump-pushers that control the chronograph, solid case back and 50m water resistance.
The off-white dial once again comes with a three-register layout, but this time with the same background and a black outline. Featuring a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour timer and running seconds with a red crosshair at 3-6-9 hours respectively. The dial is not complete without the Arabic numerals painted in black matching the minute/second track ring on the edges, two centre hour and minute hands filled with luminescent material and the three Dauphine hands in petrol blue assigned to the chronograph function.
At its heart, we will find the Sellita SW510-M automatic movement, with 23 jewels that reach 28,800 Vph and offer up to 60 hours of power reserve.
The new Tricompax chronograph comes attached to a flat link bracelet with the central links polished and the lateral ones polished with a folding clasp and the brand’s signature, and an additional blue swede leather strap.
The set also includes a Stopwatch and a Dash Clock attached to a polished metal plate so they can be attached to a classic car’s dashboard. The first features an off-white dial similar to the timepiece that comes equipped with a Hanhart mechanical movement, while the second comes with a black dial and Seagull ST3600 movement, which will hit the market on the 22nd of this month for the price of €2,100 plus VAT.
Our Opinion
The information about this new Baltic celebratory chronograph that due to embargo we were unable to disclose at the time, however, we saw it in Geneve in our hands and we liked, presented a vintage and sober look, and the same moderate dimensions that we so appreciate.
We also had the opportunity to see up close the Stopwatch and Dash Clock set that comes with the limited edition they are beautiful and should act as an extra incentive for all those who, in addition to watches, appreciate classic cars.
