Pioneering Innovation: Formex’s Essence Ceramic Skeleton COSC Raises The Bar
Formex is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a groundbreaking innovation in watchmaking, introducing the world’s first ceramic bracelet with micro-adjustments. This remarkable debut comes in the form of the new Essence Ceramic Skeleton COSC, available in four exclusive limited editions.

Crafted from black zirconium and oxide ceramic, the case of the new Essence features a refined brushed finish on its surfaces and polished bevels. It incorporates Formex’s patented case suspension system, where the outer case secures the middle dial and part of the movement through four hexagonal screws embedded into the bezel, offering superior shock protection. The timepiece also boasts sapphire crystal on both sides, a smooth wide bezel, and a screw-down crown—an unprecedented addition to the Essence collection—that ensures water resistance up to 100 meters.

The skeletonized dial showcases applied black indexes and two open-worked hands, all treated with Super-LumiNova. The Stradale variant features white lume, while the Stradale Viola edition has purple lume, and the Stradale Blue edition exhibits bright blue lume. The GT version stands out with its gilt accents filled with the same white luminescent material. A black minute rehaut encircles the dial, featuring the inscription “Chronometer” at 6 o’clock, alongside a central seconds hand.

Powering the new Essence Ceramic Skeleton COSC is the Sellita SW200-1 skeletonized automatic movement. This 26-jewel caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of up to 41 hours, ensuring precision and reliability.

Completing the design is the innovative ceramic bracelet, featuring H-shaped links with a brushed surface and polished bevels. The bracelet is equipped with a folding clasp that offers 5mm of micro-adjustments, delivering unparalleled comfort and adaptability.

Each variant of the Formex Essence Ceramic Skeleton COSC is limited to just 88 pieces. The Stradale editions are priced at CHF 3,970, while the GT edition is available for CHF 4,150. Pre-orders are now open, with deliveries set to commence in July. With this exceptional release, Formex continues to push the boundaries of modern watchmaking, combining cutting-edge materials with innovative engineering.
