Patek Philippe Makes A Splash At Geneva With Opaline Dials And New 30m Water Resistance Standard
There were three main novelties brought by Patek Philippe to the biggest show in Geneva which, in addition to not bringing any improvement, did not surprise, or perhaps they did, with the announcement of the new 30m water resistance standard on its watches, which the brand justifies saying that it does not mean lowering the rating but rather guaranteeing 100% efficiency of your timepieces up to the new limit now established. There will be a lot to talk about this subject, but we will leave it for later.
PP Aquanaut Travel Time 5164G-001

The Aquanaut Travel Time returns in the new reference 5164G which stands out for coming with an opaline blue-grey dial with the line’s usual textured pattern and which also extends to the integrated rubber strap that comes with a deployment clasp in the same material as the case.
On the outside, it comes dressed in a white gold case measuring 40.80mm by 10.20mm. This is not yet the case where we see the return of steel to the line which so many fans dream of.

Inside runs the Caliber 26-330 S C FUS automatic movement that can be seen operating through the open rear case which comes with a price of USD 63,043.
PP World Time 5330G-001

Another World Time that arrives is the new 5330G that we saw last year debut on the Asian market as a limited edition, which from now on becomes part of the permanent collection and which, like the new Aquanaut Travel Time introduced above, comes with an opaline blue -grey dial but this one with a carbon pattern, which distinguishes it from the previous limited edition with the same reference as it came with a purple dial and a Guilloché pattern.
The watch is powered by the Caliber 240 HU C automatic movement introduced last year, which in addition to coming with a 24-hour day/night indicator for each time zone is the first to feature a date which tracks the local time.

The watch comes in a white gold case measuring 40mm wide by 11.57mm tall and attached to a denim calfskin strap and is priced at USD 76,594.
PP Golden Ellipse 5738/1R-001

Lastly, for fans of the retro style comes the new Golden Ellipse ref. 5738/1R-001 that comes with a chain bracelet, reminiscent of its glorious 70s.
The watch returns in a 34.50mm by 39.50mm rose gold case, a far cry from the 27 by 32mm original that we miss so much, which features a black dial and Caliber 240 automatic movement arriving with a price tag of USD 60,097.
