Patek Philippe – 4 New Minute Repeaters
At the end of last month, Patek Philippe decided to toast the world of horology with four new Minute Repeaters, an increasingly rare complication but also increasingly appreciated by collectors and even for the simplest timepieces enthusiast, this is one of those complications that bind many of our senses and that make us smile.
Ref. 6002R – 001 Sky Moon Tourbillon Haut Artisanat
This timepiece comes with a double face, houses 12 complications, and is Patek’s second most complicated wristwatch. Among the complications, is a minute repeater that reproduces cathedral gongs and a tourbillon. It comes in a 44mm rose gold case, carefully hand-etched with volutes and arabesques, and a brown dial in Grand Feu Champlevé and Cloisonné enamel. Inside operates the ingenious Caliber R TO 27 QR SID LU composed of impressive 705 components, 24 bridges, and 55 jewels. The watch is offered with a brown leather strap that matches the tone of the dial.
Ref. 5304/301R – 001 Minute Repeater with Retrograde Perpetual Calendar
This model appeared in 2014 in a red gold case that was discontinued five years later. This new model comes in a 43mm rose gold case, with an 80 diamond baguette cut that is divided by the bezel, lugs, and strap clasp. On the skeletonized dial, the almost transparent perpetual calendar discs are complemented with gold frame windows that make it easy to read. Inside, the Caliber R 27 PS QR LU operates, which can be seen through the open case back, where the hammers, gongs, and the micro-rotor stand out. The watch is offered with a black leather strap.
Ref. 5374G – 001 Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar with Blue Enamel Dial
Launched in 2016 with a platinum case and enamel black dial, the latest model comes with a 42mm white gold case and blue Grand Feu enamel dial. In addition to the complications of the minute repeater and perpetual calendar, this timepiece features a moon phase opening at 6 o’clock. The watch is equipped with the Caliber R 27 Q also with an open case back through which the detailed hand-decorated movement can be observed. The watch is offered with a blue leather strap in the same shade as the dial.
Ref. 7040/250G – 001 Rare Handcraft Minute Repeater
Descended from the Ref. 7002R the first Ladies Minute Repeater, this new model comes in a 36mm white gold case with a 168 diamond bezel set and a blue Flinqué enamel dial. The watch comes with a minute repeater and a small seconds complication. Inside, the Caliber R 27 S operates, which can be seen through the opening case back where the hammers and gongs stand out, but also the automatic micro-rotor in gold. The watch is offered with a blue leather strap that matches the tone of the dial.
