Panerai Presents Five New Luna Rossa

Panerai is the official sponsor of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli regatta team, which this year competes in the 37th American’s Cup.

The relationship between the Panerai and Luna Rossa brands has been extending over time due to the fact that the two brands share the same values such as the spirit of innovation, passion for excellence and love for the sea, as the CEO of the watchmaking brand emphasizes.
And it is in this context that Panerai presents five new watches that become now part of the Luminor and Luminor Due collections.

There are three new Luminors, all sharing the same sunburst blue dial with sandwich construction, hour markers and Arabic numerals filled with Super-LumiNova as well happens with the two centre pencil hands, small-seconds at 9 o’clock with a red hand (with the exception of the Chrono version) and a blue two-material strap matching the dial with a centre red band with the name and logo of the Luna Rossa team.

The Luminor Luna Rossa Quaranta PAM01408 is dressed in a steel case with DLC, on the dial it adds a date window at 3 o’clock and inside it comes equipped with the Caliber P.900 automatic movement with 3 days of power reserve.

The new Luminor Luna Rossa Quaranta BiTempo PAM01404 follows exactly the same configuration as PAM01408, but whose steel case comes without the DLC treatment adding a GMT centre hand with an arrow-shape tip in red in homage to the sail colour of the Luna team boat Rossa Prada Pirelli, coming inside also with the same Caliber but modified, the P.900/GMT with the same power reserve capacity.

Finally, and also within the scope of the Luminor collection, there is the Luna Rossa Chrono Carbotech PAM01519, which is fitted with a 44mm case made from the compression of thin sheets of carbon fibre at a controlled temperature, the result of which is materialized in a highly resistant material, and which for in addition to the crown, it comes with two pushers at 8 and 10 o’clock that control the chronograph function. On the dial two black totalizers at 3-9 o’clock materialized in a 30-minute counter and a running seconds respectively, a tachymeter inner ring and a Chronograph centre seconds hand with a red tip. Inside is the Caliber P.9200 automatic movement that brings the chronograph to life, offering up to 42 hours of power reserve.

The two new Luminor Due Luna Rossa with the exception of case dimensions and strap have exactly the same configuration, come with a polished steel case, with a crown at three o’clock and with the traditional protective clasp, on a matte white dial with sandwich construction, markers of the hours and numerals cut out and filled with luminescent material the same one that illuminates the two centre hands, a date window and small seconds with a red hand at 3-9 o’clock, and finally the inscriptions of the brand lettering at 12 o’clock and the “Luna Rossa” at 6 o’clock. Inside, the Caliber P.900 once again takes centre stage, offering the same 3 days of power reserve.

As far as differences are concerned, the PAM01378 comes in a 38mm case attached to a white Saffiano leather strap with the same vertical red stripe with the team name and logo, while the PAM01381 wears a sturdier 42mm case and is attached to a grey two materials strap in the same configuration as the other models.
