Panerai Debuts The First 44mm Submersible On A Stainless Steel Bracelet

Panerai expands its professional dive watch collection with the new Submersible PAM01756, a model that answers one of the longest-standing requests from enthusiasts. While the 44 mm Submersible has become one of the brand’s signature watches, this is the first standard-production version to pair the iconic case with a stainless steel bracelet. The new reference also debuts a cleaner dial layout and an upgraded automatic movement, further enhancing the appeal of the collection.

A Familiar Case With A New Look

The watch is housed in a 44 mm brushed stainless steel case measuring 13.3mm thick, retaining all the design cues that define the Submersible collection. These include Panerai’s patented crown-protecting bridge and a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a blue ceramic insert for measuring dive times.

Built as a genuine professional diving instrument, the PAM01756 offers an impressive 500 metres (50 bar) of water resistance, supported by a solid screw-down caseback that protects the movement under demanding conditions.

A Cleaner, More Balanced Dial

One of the biggest visual changes comes from the dial. Finished in sunray-brushed black, it abandons the traditional date display found on most 44 mm Submersible models in favour of a symmetrical time-only layout.

Replacing the date window at 3 o’clock is a luminous hour marker, a design element previously seen only on select limited editions. Large applied indices and skeletonized hands filled with Super-LumiNova provide excellent legibility in all lighting conditions, while the small seconds display remains positioned at 9 o’clock.

Upgraded Manufacture Movement

Inside beats the Panerai Calibre P.980, an automatic manufacture movement that succeeds the widely used P.900.

Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it delivers a 72-hour power reserve from a single barrel and adds a hacking seconds function, allowing for more precise time setting.

The defining feature of the PAM01756 is undoubtedly its new stainless steel bracelet. Specifically developed for the 44mm Submersible, it adopts Panerai’s contemporary H-link construction with rounded centre sections inspired by the brand’s signature crown protection device.

Alternating brushed and polished finishes give the bracelet a refined appearance while preserving the watch’s rugged tool-watch character.

The Panerai Submersible PAM01756 joins the brand’s permanent collection and carries a retail price of € 12,800, positioning it as the flagship stainless steel 44mm Submersible with its upgraded movement, professional diving specifications and the collection’s first factory-fitted steel bracelet.
