Oris Expands The Big Crown Pointer Date Collection With New Colors And Movements
Oris has introduced a fresh array of color options and movement variations to its well-known Big Crown Pointer Date lineup. This expansion brings both in-house and Sellita-powered models, offering distinct aesthetic and functional differences while maintaining the core design elements of the collection.
Calibre 403 Variants
The first set of new releases features the in-house Oris Calibre 403, an automatic movement with small seconds and a five-day power reserve. The movement is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.3mm. The watch continues the hallmark Pointer Date function, utilizing an arrow-tipped hand to indicate the date along a printed track.

The block numerals within the dial enhance legibility and depth. The new color options for this version include a textured green dial and a terracotta dial with a smoother matte finish. The green variant showcases a more pronounced grain pattern, adding a tactile visual element to the dial surface.

These models are available with two strap options: a brown Cervo Volante deerskin leather strap or the newly developed stainless steel H-link bracelet. The bracelet features a brushed steel construction with polished center links and includes a half-link for improved sizing adjustments, though it does not offer a micro-adjustment system. Pricing for the Calibre 403 models is set at € 3,800 on the bracelet and € 3,600 on the leather strap.
Sellita-Powered Variants
Oris has also introduced three additional dial colors—yellow, blue, and lilac—featuring Sellita movements instead of the in-house Calibre 403. These models employ a center seconds hand in place of the small seconds subdial, resulting in a slightly thinner profile at 12.0mm. The Sellita-powered versions maintain the 40mm case diameter and continue to use the same block numerals and printed date track found in the Calibre 403 models.

Unlike the textured green dial in the in-house series, the dials on the Sellita models adopt a smooth matte finish with bold, high-saturation color choices. These watches are exclusively available on the stainless steel H-link bracelet and are priced at € 2,000.

Design and Functionality Considerations
The integration of an H-link bracelet for these models marks a notable development, as previous iterations of the Big Crown Pointer Date in this design language were available only on leather straps. While the inclusion of a half-link provides some adjustment flexibility, the absence of a micro-adjustment feature may be a consideration for those seeking precise wrist sizing.

With this expansion, Oris continues to refine the Big Crown Pointer Date collection, offering a balance of traditional aesthetics and modern updates. The introduction of new dial textures, movement variations, and bracelet options enhances the versatility of the collection, catering to a broader range of preferences while maintaining the model’s signature design elements.
