Omega’s Railmaster Is Back
Omega introduces a new chapter for the Railmaster, one of its most historically significant tool watches, with a 2025 collection that combines vintage aesthetics, contemporary watchmaking standards, and anti-magnetic technology. The new Railmaster is presented in two variants—central seconds and small seconds—and reaffirms the model’s original mission: to deliver robust performance for professionals exposed to magnetic fields.
Heritage and Case Construction
Originally launched in 1957 as part of Omega’s “Professional Trilogy” alongside the Seamaster 300 and Speedmaster, the Railmaster was designed for engineers and technical staff. The 2025 iteration continues that legacy with a modernized approach. Both versions share a 38mm stainless steel case, a size that aligns closely with vintage proportions while offering contemporary durability.
The case features Omega’s signature lyre lugs, a polished bezel, and alternating brushed and polished surfaces. Lug-to-lug length is 45mm, and thickness measures 12.36mm. Water resistance is rated at 150 meters, thanks to a screw-down crown and a screw-in sapphire caseback, which also allows a view of the in-house automatic movements.
Dial Configurations and Design
Omega distinguishes the two models mainly by the dial layout and color execution. The central seconds model features a gray dial with a black gradient effect, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic. The Broad Arrow hands are rhodium-plated and filled with white Super-LumiNova. A diamond-tipped seconds hand reinforces the watch’s technical identity. The small seconds model features a beige dial with a black gradient border, evoking a vintage-inspired look. The hour and minute hands are coated with gray PVD, while the small seconds hand is finished in beige lacquer. The lume of this version is Super-LumiNova in a vintage tone, enhancing its retro character.
Both dials maintain a clean, symmetrical layout: no date window, triangular hour markers, Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, and minimal text—just the Omega logo, brand name, and “Railmaster” designation.
Master Chronometer Movements
Each Railmaster version is powered by a distinct Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre, both certified by METAS for chronometric performance and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss.
The central seconds model is equipped with the calibre 8806, while the small seconds version houses calibre 8804. Both movements are based on the same architecture, offering a power reserve of 55 to 60 hours respectively, automatic winding, a Co-Axial escapement, and a free-sprung balance with a silicon balance spring, ensuring chronometric precision and robust durability under daily wear conditions.
Movement finishing includes Geneva waves in arabesque, rhodium-plated bridges, and red-filled engravings, all visible through the sapphire caseback.
Strap and Bracelet Options
The new Railmaster models are offered with a choice of strap or bracelet. The central seconds version comes paired with a black leather strap, while the small seconds edition is matched with a rich cognac leather strap, both equipped with fold-over clasps. Alternatively, both models are available on a stainless steel three-link bracelet, which shares the refined, ergonomic design seen on recent Aqua Terra models. The bracelet features polished and brushed finishes, shorter end-links for improved fit, and a butterfly clasp with a 2mm comfort adjustment for enhanced wearability.

The new Omega Railmaster models are now part of the permanent collection and available through official boutiques and retailers. Prices for the central seconds model start at € 5,800 on a leather strap, while the small seconds model is priced at € 6,800 on a steel bracelet.
