Omega Unveils Seamaster Regatta for 37th America’s Cup

The 37th America’s Cup is taking place in Barcelona between August 22nd and October 20th and Omega, which is once again the Official Timekeeper of the event, has just presented the new Seamaster Regatta, a watch developed for sailors.

The robust watch that comes with a digital display alongside the analogue one resembles the Speedmaster X-33 and it is no coincidence since it belongs to the same line, which the brand defines as more than a watch, it is a navigation instrument for sailors.

But let’s get to the point of the watch, it comes dressed in a Grade 5 titanium case with dimensions of 46.75mm in diameter, 15.60mm in thickness and 50mm in length, as you can guess it is not for small wrists. Featuring twisted lugs, sapphire crystal, a unidirectional bezel with a blue insert and 60-minute scale, a crown at 3 o’clock with a blue fluted rubber ring with guards, four pushers—three in blue and one in red., solid case back engraved with waves and with the logo of the 37th edition of the regatta, and finally 50m of water resistance which may seem to be little since we are talking about a Seamaster.

The unconventional dial features a white minute track rehaut followed by a cut-off blue bridge with a wave pattern that, which among others, houses the luminous hour markers, two openworked hands from the Seamaster 300M, a lollipop centre seconds hand and a large LCD screen in the background.

In addition to the time and date functions, there are many others that the new Seamaster Regatta brings together, such as a stopwatch, countdown, 3 alarms, moonphase indicator, thermometer, accelerometer and sailing logbook. At its heart, we find the Caliber 5701 quartz movement, the most accurate in that category ever built by Omega.

The watch is paired with an integrated rubber strap in three colour options: blue, red or white, which is available from today for CHF 6,500 plus VAT.
