Omega Elevates Speedmaster 38 Collection With Gold And Steel Editions

Omega has just expanded its Speedmaster 38 collection with four new watches that span eight references and come in solid gold and stainless steel.

The reduced version of the Speedmaster debuted in 2017 now arrives with a version in 18k Sedna Gold (the rose gold alloy of the brand) with a brown PVD dial and silvery coating counters, another in 18k Moonshine Gold (the yellow gold alloy of Omega) with green PVD dial and silvery coating counters and two other stainless steel versions with the same two dial tones as the gold versions just introduced.

The watches come with the same dimensions of 38mm in diameter, 14.70mm in thickness and 44.90mm lug-to-lug distance that we find in their peers. Featuring sapphire crystal, faceted lugs that, like the rest of the case, alternate between a polished and brushed finish, a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock flanked by two pushers, screwed solid case back, 100m of water resistance, and which is now added a 52-diamond set on the bezel, crown and ringed sub-dials.

The dial maintains the previous layout of three central hands in the same material as the case which, together with the hour markers, are filled with Super-LumiNova, three ovalized registers at 3-6-9 o’clock consisting of a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour register with a date opening and a running seconds respectively.

Inside we once again find the Caliber 3330 automatic movement, which is Chronometer-certified by COSC, with Co-Axial escapement and silicon balance spring, reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 52 hours of power reserve.

As we have already mentioned, the four new watches are divided into eight new references, as each of them comes with two strap options, the elegant tapered bracelet debuted in the collection a few years ago in the same material as the case with a folding clasp or a matching alligator leather strap with a pin buckle.

Prices start at €17,400 for the steel versions with a leather strap and go up to €51,400 for the solid gold version with a matching bracelet.
