Omega Brings Six New Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M To The Collection
On this Carnival day, Omega presents six novelties in the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Collection, which come in Earth tones and include three simple time date versions and other ‘twins’ that add the chronograph function.
And before we talk about the different variants, let’s start with what they share, they all wear a stainless steel case that in the time date version comes with dimensions of 43.50mm in diameter, 16.20mm in thickness and 49.30mm lug-to-lug distance and in the chronograph version they are 45.50mm wide, 19mm high and 52.30mm wings distance. Unidirectional bezel with ceramic insert and Liquid Metal diving scale, sapphire crystal on both sides, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s logo which in the chronograph version is accompanied by two pushers, helium escape valve at 10 o’clock, screwed case back with NAIAD Lock System and 600m waterproof.
On the dial, brushed PVD stainless steel hour markers and hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, applied Arabic numerals and the brand’s logo at noon, arrow-shaped hands, a date window next to the crown and which in the chronograph version travels to the 6 o’clock position by adding two records related to its nature at 3 and 9 o’clock.
Inside, both versions are equipped with an automatic movement with Co-Axial escapement, which are Master Chronometer by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The time date version is driven by the Callibre 8900 which operates 25,200 Vph, while on the column wheel chronograph we find the Caliber 9,900 which can reach 28,800 Vph, and both are capable of offering up to 60 hours of power reserve.
Lastly, the six new watches come attached to a textured rubber strap with visible stitching along the edges with a steel folder clasp.
So now we move on to the different variants, starting with the “Gunmetal” version which comes with a sand-blasted “gunmetal” grey galvanic treatment dial, accents filled with beige luminescent material and which in the chronograph version adds sandblated stainless steel sub-dials. On the outside, brushed black ceramic insert bezel and integrated dark grey rubber strap with beige and dark grey stitching.
Then we have a silver green version, which features a stainless steel dial with a brushed vertical finish, where we can find green Arabic numerals and “Seamaster” and water resistance inscriptions, which in the chronograph version also combine with the two brushed green ceramics sub-dials. Here the bezel insert comes painted green with a brushed finish and the same applies to the rubber strap which comes with light grey and green stitching.
Finally, we have a beige variant, which comes with a sand-blasted beige varnish dial, which in the chronograph version adds “azure” bronze silicon nitride ceramic registers that, like the previous version, match the model’s inscriptions and water resistance. Also the insert bezel is presented in a brushed bronze silicon nitride, while the rubber strap comes in shades of beige matching the dial and with white stitching.
These six new watches are exclusive versions that can only be found in the brand’s official boutiques with prices ranging from €8,000 for the time date versions in silver green and gunmetal to €10,900 for the beige chronograph version.
