O Bem Disposto: A Culinary Legacy Reborn
O Bem Disposto, a new restaurant located in the picturesque countryside between Comporta and Alcácer do Sal, brings together family and friends around Portuguese gastronomy and local products. Recognized for its famous paella by Luis Baptista, who previously led a celebrated restaurant in Campo de Ourique, O Bem Disposto continues its tradition of classic Portuguese dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.
The new iteration of O Bem Disposto, now managed by Luis and his daughter Mariana Baptista, features a menu that blends generations and experiences. It includes lighter, internationally-influenced dishes while maintaining its Portuguese roots. The restaurant’s setting in Herdade de Montalvo, with natural décor and a spacious terrace, enhances the dining experience.
The menu offers high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Starters include Iberian Peninsula snacks like Prawns Ajillo and Mushroom and ham croquettes. Main dishes highlight meat favourites such as Fondue de Vazia and Portuguese-style steaks, alongside the renowned Paella Negra with Aioli. Fish options feature traditional dishes like Bacalhau à Brás, while vegetarian choices include chickpea curry with mango.
Mariana Baptista has introduced partnerships with local brands like Miss Can Preserves and Santini Natural Fruit Ice Creams. The drink selection includes wines, beers, teas, and smoothies. A new Take Away and Delivery service offers a range of meals and snacks, perfect for weekends and holidays.
O Bem Disposto’s history is rooted in the Baptista family’s passion for gastronomy, beginning with the first restaurant in Lapa in 1996. After the closure of their Campo de Ourique location in 2005, they launched Bem Disposto Catering. Now, they welcome guests to their new location, continuing their legacy of culinary excellence and community spirit.
