Norqain Unveils New Independence Skeleton Chrono And A New Calibre
Norqain has introduced two new chronographs in its Independence Skeleton collection, both limited to 300 pieces each, alongside a new in-house movement. These timepieces come in two variations: one in stainless steel with a black dial and gilt accents, and the other in titanium with black and purple details. Notably, the stainless steel version will also see another release at Watches and Wonders, with over 300 additional units planned.
The robust case of these watches measures 41.80mm in diameter, 13.90mm in thickness, and 49.80mm in length. The design is refined yet bold, featuring a smooth bezel, sapphire glass, and hollow lugs on the sides. A plate on the left flank displays the brand’s name and can be customized. The crown, located at 3 o’clock, is accompanied by guards and two pushers, while the watch also boasts an open case back and a water resistance of 100 meters.
The skeletonized dial features a Bi-Compax layout with two vertical registers: a 30-minute counter at noon and a running seconds indicator at 6 o’clock. It also includes applied hour markers and openworked Dauphine hands filled with Super-LumiNova. The brand’s logo is displayed at 9 o’clock, and the word “Chronometer” is inscribed along the curvature of the dial near 1:30.
Through the sapphire crystal case back, the new Caliber 8K automatic movement, developed by Sellita, is visible. As indicated on the dial, this movement is Chronometer-certified. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, includes a flyback function, and offers a power reserve of up to 62 hours. The movement is decorated with blackened bridges and a rotor, adding a visual element to the technical appeal.
The steel version comes with two strap options: a steel bracelet or a black rubber strap, priced at €5,950 and €5,700, respectively. The titanium version, priced at €6,450, is available exclusively with a purple rubber strap.
