Norqain expands its Independence collection with the launch of the Skeleton 40 mm — a more compact and wearable take on the original 42 mm model. Retaining the series’ signature openworked design and bold visual impact, this new edition offers improved ergonomics and a refined build that broadens its appeal to enthusiasts seeking both technical flair and a versatile fit.

Refined Case Dimensions and Material Options

The case of the Independence Skeleton 40 mm measures 40mm in diameter, 12.05 mm in height, and 46.30 mm from lug to lug—dimensions that strike a balanced profile suitable for a broad range of wrists. With a water resistance of 100 meters, the watch is designed not just for visual impact but also for practical, everyday wear.

Norqain is offering two case finishes for this model. The first is crafted from 316L stainless steel and features alternating brushed, polished, and blasted surfaces. The second option is a black DLC-coated version that delivers a more rugged and stealth-oriented appearance. Both variants include distinctive Norqain design elements such as sculpted, skeletonized lugs, bold crown guards, and the signature Norqain plate positioned on the left side of the case. This plate can be personalized through engraving by a skilled third party, offering a rare degree of customization in this segment.

Skeleton Dial with Functional Legibility

At the core of the Independence Skeleton 40mm is its openworked dial, which reveals the movement beneath while maintaining a coherent and legible layout. The dial surface features an anthracite treatment and is complemented by skeletonized hands and applied hour markers, all filled with white Super-LumiNova X1 for low-light visibility.

Color accents provide additional clarity and character. The stainless steel version features a vibrant aqua blue on the tip of the seconds hand and on the “Chronometer” designation at 6 o’clock, while the black DLC version uses a bright orange for these same highlights. A matching anthracite rehaut frames the dial, integrating a clearly marked minute track that enhances the sense of depth and mechanical intricacy without compromising on usability.

Inside the case, and visible through both the dial and the sapphire crystal case back, is the Norqain Caliber NN08S. This movement is based on the Sellita SW200-1 but has been skeletonized and refined specifically for Norqain. It is chronometer-certified by COSC, offering reliable precision along with a power reserve of 41 hours and a beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A custom Norqain rotor completes the presentation, offering a strong visual focal point on the reverse side of the watch.

Strap and Bracelet Configurations

The Independence Skeleton 40mm offers multiple strap configurations depending on the case material. The stainless steel version can be paired with either a three-row stainless steel bracelet or an anthracite rubber strap featuring a Milanese-style texture. Both options include a folding clasp with micro-adjustment for a secure and adaptable fit.

The black DLC-coated version is offered exclusively on rubber straps, with a choice between khaki green or black, both featuring the same Milanese pattern and micro-adjustable deployant clasp. These combinations reinforce the sporty, modern aesthetic of the watch while ensuring comfort on the wrist.

Availability and Pricing

The Independence Skeleton 40mm joins Norqain’s permanent collection and is available now through the brand’s website and authorized retail partners. Pricing for the stainless steel model begins at € 3,950 when equipped with the rubber strap, and rises to € 4,200 when configured with the stainless steel bracelet. The black DLC-coated version is priced at € 4,160, regardless of whether it comes with the khaki or black rubber strap.
