Nomos Presents The Orion Neomatik New Black

Nomos chooses a trio of watches to kick off the 2024 season called Orion Neomatik New Black. 

The watches come in three sizes and share a black dial where we can find accents in different tones. In addition, the larger size also adds a date window. 

They all share the same round-shaped stainless steel case that comes with a polished finish, smooth bezel, drilled lugs, sapphire crystal on both sides, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, 50m water resistance and genuine black Horween shell cordovan leather strap with a steel pin buckle. 

On the domed black dial we can find the minimalist design of Glashütte, which here comes with applied baton hour markers, two central hands, a small seconds at 6 o’clock and a white minute track that matches the brand’s lettering at 12 o’clock followed by ‘Neomatik’ painted in gold. 

The New Black (ref. 396) is the smallest of the set, embracing a case measuring 36.40mm in diameter, 8.50mm thick and 45mm lug-to-lug distance. On the dial, the hour markers feature a gold plated finish. Inside, it’s powered by the Caliber DUW 3001 automatic movement, which operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and offers up to 43 hours of power reserve. 

Next comes the 39 New Black (ref. 346), whose case measures 38.50mm wide, 8.70mm high and 47.50mm between the wings. On the dial, the hour indices come with a silver coating matching the rhodium-plated hands. Just like the 36mm New Black on the inside, the ‘expenses’ are covered by the DUW 3001. 

Lastly, comes the 41 Date New Black (ref. 366), which comes with a more robust case measuring 40.50mm by 9.40mm. In addition to the gold plated hands on the dial, we can also find a date window next to the crown whose inscriptions are also painted in gold. Inside, the Caliber DUW 6101 automatic movement operates, reaching 21,600 Vph and offering up to 42 hours of power reserve. 

The watches are available from today with prices starting at €3,040 for the smaller version and going up to €3,500 for the largest one.
