On the past day 23, Nomos announced a trio of new watches, which will expand the number of options within its AHOI collection.
The new Ahoi Atlantic stands out for its navy blue dial, which is a complete novelty within the collection, as it only had until now three colour options on the dial: white silver, vivid blue and red.
The three new variants are divided into two case sizes, the Ahoi Atlantic and Ahoi date Atlantic in 40.3mm diameter by 10.6mm thickness and the Ahoi neomatik Atlantic in 36.3mm and 9.6mm respectively, and starting with what unites them, stainless steel case, slender bezel and vertical perforated lugs all with a polish finish, front and back sapphire crystal, screw-down crown with “guards” and 200m of water resistance.
On the navy blue dial, a centre rhodium-plated hands and painted hour markers and numerals all in white filled with Super-LumiNova, little patina dots on the minute track, small seconds with a radial pattern and red hand, and a few little nuances, on the Ahoi date Atlantic a date aperture at 6 o’clock with the date disk matching the dial, a smart choice, and the Ahoi neomatik Atlantic with the inscription “neomatik” matching the patina tone of the tiny dots.
And if on the outside there is no big news to announce on the inside, much less, with the Ahoi and Ahoi date Atlantic being powered by the Caliber DUW 5001 and 5101 respectively, while the Ahoi neomatik Atlantic comes equipped with the Caliber DUW 3001, all of them benefiting automatic movement and offering up to 43 hours of power reserve, with the exception of the Ahoi date which offers one hour less.
The watches are offered with a blue-black textile strap with prices ranging from €3,140 to €3,620, in line with the prices of existing variants, except for the Ahoi Atlantic whose price is €380 more than the Ahoi Ref. 555 / 550 to come with a sapphire glass back instead of the solid case back of this reference.
Although there isn’t much to say in terms of innovations, we have to say that the summer theme used for the launch of this new Ahoi trio seems a little out of line with the new season, as the bathing season invites light and cheerful colours and if there’s one thing that the collection hasn’t missed, it’s those cheerful tones very well complemented by past additions “siren”. That’s why the new Atlantic may be a little out of season, but with the arrival of autumn it will certainly take on a new lease of life.
