Nomos Presents The Ludwig 75th Anniversary Of German Basic Law LE

Nomos Glashütte in partnership with Nomos Verlag celebrates the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law with six limited editions in different sizes of the classic Nomos Ludwig.

According to the watch brand, this exclusive release symbolizes freedom, democracy, and legality.

On the outside, the new Ludwig once again wears the traditional round case in polished stainless steel, which comes with a slim bezel, straight and drilled lugs, sapphire crystal, crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s lettering and an open case back that is engraved with the Article 1 Paragraph 1 of the German Basic Law – “Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar.” (Human dignity is inviolable.).

While on the dial we find the classic layout, with painted Roman numerals interspersed by baton hour markers, a minute track on the edges that in versions with manual movement is replaced by a railway track, a recessed small seconds at 6 o’clock, two black center hands and a paragraph sign at the bottom in gold on automatic models and in black on hand-wound versions preceded by the inscription “75 Jahre Grundgesetz”. It should also be noted that the larger edition featuring the Ludwig Neomatik 41 Date comes with a date window next to the crown which, like the hour markers on the dial, features Roman numerals.

Inside, the 32.80mm, 35mm, and 37.50mm sizes come equipped with the Caliber Alpha hand-wound movement, the 36mm and 38.50mm versions with the DUW3001 automatic movement, and finally the larger 40.50mm size is powered by the DUW6101 automatic movement.

The watches come attached to a vegan velour velvet gray strap on the 32.80mm version and the others with a Horween genuine shell cordovan black strap. With prices starting at €1,720 and going up to €3,340.
