NOMOS Presents Ludwig Neomatik Ärzte Ohne Grenzen
NOMOS Glashütte continues its remarkable collaboration with Doctors Without Borders (Ärzte Ohne Grenzen) by introducing two new limited editions of the iconic Ludwig Neomatik model. Building on a 13-year partnership that has already raised over €1.3 million for the humanitarian organization, these latest releases aim to generate an additional €125,000 to support the charity’s life-saving efforts.
The Ludwig Neomatik watches are available in two sizes, 36mm and 39mm, with each size limited to just 250 pieces. Crafted from polished stainless steel, the cases measure 36.40mm or 38.50mm in diameter and are only 7mm thick, showcasing NOMOS’s signature minimalist design language. Both models feature straight drilled lugs, a signed crown at the 3 o’clock position, and an open case back that reveals the in-house DUW3001 automatic movement. The sapphire crystal and 50-meter water resistance enhance the overall durability and functionality of these timepieces.
The dials maintain a timeless aesthetic with a white enamel background, black printed indexes, and Roman numerals. The numeral at 12 o’clock is highlighted in bright red, symbolizing the charity’s distinctive branding. Additional details include a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, glossy black hands, a finely printed minute track, and the inscription “Ärzte Ohne Grenzen” at the bottom. NOMOS’s hallmark logo and the word “neomatik” appear at 12 o’clock, with the latter in gold for a refined touch.
Powering these watches is the ultra-thin DUW3001 movement, measuring only 3.2mm in height. This in-house caliber features 27 jewels, hacking seconds, and a power reserve of up to 43 hours while running at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The movement exemplifies NOMOS’s commitment to precision engineering and exceptional craftsmanship.
Each watch is paired with a black Horween Shell Cordovan strap, known for its durability and elegance, secured with a steel pin buckle. Priced at €2,880 for the 36mm model and €3,050 for the 38mm variant, these limited editions are not only a testament to NOMOS’s horological expertise but also a meaningful way to support a worthy cause.
