Nomos Expands Its Metro Collection With The New 38 Date Model
Nomos Glashütte continues to refine its signature minimalist style with the new Metro 38 Date, a timepiece that blends understated elegance with advanced in-house mechanics. Designed for those who appreciate a contemporary yet timeless look, the latest addition to the Metro line brings the practicality of a date function and the precision of the brand’s latest manual-winding calibre.
Clean Design, Contemporary Character
The Metro 38 Date maintains the familiar aesthetic of the Metro family — clean, balanced, and distinctly Nomos. Its 38.50 mm polished stainless steel case exudes simplicity, with a slender profile of under 8 mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. The domed sapphire crystal and minimal bezel emphasize the wide dial opening, creating a light and open visual impression.

The Nomos Metro’s design, featuring wire terminals and a finely serrated crown, adds a touch of understated sophistication, while the overall design stays true to the Bauhaus-inspired principles that define the brand’s identity.

Elegant Details and Functional Clarity
The dial layout remains faithful to the original Metro 38, now enhanced by the addition of a date window positioned at 6 o’clock. The typography and proportions of the display are carefully integrated, ensuring that the new complication complements the watch’s balanced design.

Other familiar Metro features include needle-shaped black oxidized hands, light blue markers at the cardinal points, and a red small seconds hand — details that bring a touch of color and personality without compromising the minimalist aesthetic. The watch comes paired with a 19 mm black Shell Cordovan leather strap, equipped with quick-change spring bars for easy versatility.
Powered by the DUW 4601 Calibre
Beneath the sapphire crystal caseback lies the Nomos DUW 4601 movement — the latest evolution of the brand’s in-house manual-winding calibres. Developed from the trusted Alpha architecture, the DUW 4601 integrates several key advancements, including the Nomos Swing System with its proprietary blued hairspring, a stop-seconds mechanism, and an improved 52-hour power reserve.

The movement features refined finishing, highlighted by sunbeam-pattern ribbing radiating from the balance wheel, emphasizing the craftsmanship that defines Nomos’s Glashütte roots. The date mechanism is integrated around the periphery of the movement, maintaining the watch’s thin profile while adding useful functionality.
A Permanent Addition to the Metro Line
The Nomos Metro 38 Date joins the permanent Nomos collection as a refined expression of modern watchmaking. Combining minimalist design with the brand’s latest in-house innovations, it represents the essence of what makes Nomos Glashütte stand out — precision, simplicity, and timeless appeal. It’s now available for € 2,780.
