Nodus Expands The Sector II With Stone Dials And A New Limited Edition
Nodus is expanding its Sector II family with two new permanent models featuring natural stone dials, while also introducing a limited-edition collaboration with display specialist Holme & Hadfield. The new releases bring together the brand’s compact sports and dive-watch designs with distinctive materials, while retaining the practical proportions and mechanical specifications that define the collection.
Sector II Sport Tiger’s Eye and Onyx
Following previous limited editions featuring semi-precious stone dials, Nodus is now making the concept part of the permanent Sector II Sport collection. The first two models use Tiger’s Eye and Onyx, offering very different interpretations of the same 38 mm sports-watch architecture.
The Tiger’s Eye dial is the more expressive of the pair. Its natural golden-brown surface is characterised by the mineral’s distinctive striations, with each dial displaying its own pattern and variations. Rather than attempting to make every watch identical, Nodus allows the natural material to become the defining feature of each individual piece.
The Onyx takes the opposite approach. Its deep black surface has a smooth, almost glass-like appearance, creating a more monochromatic and understated aesthetic. The watch combines the black stone dial with a black DLC-coated bezel and crown, while the rest of the case remains in stainless steel.
Both models use a straightforward display designed around applied hour markers and Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Pencil-shaped hands complement the restrained dial layout, while Grade A blue Super-LumiNova BGW9 provides visibility in low-light conditions.
The 38 mm stainless-steel case measures 11.70 mm thick, giving the Sector II Sport relatively compact proportions without compromising its sporting character. The dimensions also leave the dial with enough visual presence for the natural stone to take centre stage.
Power comes from the Seiko TMI NH38 automatic movement. The calibre operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 41 hours of power reserve, while its open architecture is particularly well suited to a collection where the dial remains the principal visual attraction.
Both models are delivered on a 3-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, complementing the compact 38mm case and giving the watches a versatile everyday character.
The Tiger’s Eye model is priced at USD 575, while the DLC-equipped Onyx version costs USD 600. Unlike Nodus’ earlier stone-dial releases, both are regular collection models rather than limited editions, making the natural-material concept available on an ongoing basis.
Nodus Sector II Dive Holme & Hadfield Edition
Alongside the two new Sport models, Nodus has created a much more exclusive Sector II Dive in collaboration with Holme & Hadfield. The partnership brings together two brands with a shared interest in presenting mechanical objects in a considered way, with the resulting watch limited to just 75 pieces.
At first glance, the watch appears to feature a conventional matte-black dive-watch dial. Its applied markers and luminous treatment are immediately familiar, but the construction becomes more interesting on closer inspection.
Rather than being a conventional solid dial, the model incorporates a sapphire layer positioned above the black dial surface. This creates a sense of depth, with the applied hour markers appearing to sit above the dial rather than directly on it. The idea takes inspiration from Holme & Hadfield’s glass-topped display cases and gives the Sector II Dive a distinctive three-dimensional appearance.
Holme & Hadfield’s branding is positioned at 6 o’clock, while the hands follow a contrasting design: an arrow-shaped hour hand, pencil-style minute hand and green lollipop seconds hand. The combination adds subtle colour to an otherwise predominantly black composition.
The case measures 38 mm in diameter and 11.9mm thick, although the projecting bezel increases the overall width to approximately 40 mm. This overhanging construction also provides additional grip when operating the bezel.
Material choices further distinguish the collaboration. The main case is stainless steel, while both the crown and bezel are made from bronze, introducing the warmer tone and evolving surface associated with the material. The 60-minute dive scale is carried by a black DLC-coated steel insert.
Inside, the watch uses the same Seiko TMI NH38 automatic movement found in the new Sector II Sport stone-dial models, providing approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
The collaboration is also supplied with a 3-link stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp, providing a robust and cohesive finishing touch to the steel-and-bronze case design.
The Sector II Dive Holme & Hadfield Edition will be limited to 75 watches and priced at USD 650. Early access begins on August 27 for customers who register through Nodus, followed by general availability on August 28. The first five orders will also include a Holme & Hadfield Watch Care Kit.
With these releases, Nodus is taking the Sector II in two complementary directions: natural stone gives the Sport collection a more individual and decorative character, while the Holme & Hadfield collaboration experiments with sapphire, depth and contrasting case materials. Both remain firmly grounded in the compact, functional design language that has become central to the Sector II family.
