Nivada Grenchen x Worn & Wound Complete Their Trilogy With The Datomaster VK63 V3
Nivada Grenchen and Worn & Wound have once again joined forces to complete their trilogy of collaborative timepieces with the release of the new Datomaster VK63 V3. This latest edition follows the success of previous models, offering a vintage-inspired chronograph with modern reliability at an accessible price point. Unlike its predecessors, the V3 edition does not come with an accompanying Chronomaster, focusing solely on delivering an affordable yet stylish meca-quartz chronograph.
The new Datomaster VK63 V3 maintains the signature vintage appeal of the collection, housed in a stainless steel case measuring 36mm in diameter, 12mm in thickness, and 43.50mm lug-to-lug. The case features a mix of brushed and polished finishes, domed mineral glass, a smooth bezel, drilled lugs, a fluted crown adorned with the brand’s signature, and pump-style pushers. With a solid screwed case back and 100-meter water resistance, the timepiece balances aesthetics with durability.
The dial presents a striking combination of teal and sandblasted grayish-blue tones, accented by bold purple details. The teal center harmonizes with the running seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, while the grayish-blue perimeter extends to both the 24-hour counter at 3 o’clock and the 60-minute register at 9 o’clock. Purple indexes and stopwatch hands match the numerals on the date wheel, and a black racing-style minute and second track frames the outer edge. Enhancing readability, the hour markers and hands are filled with luminescent material. At the top of the dial, the Nivada Grenchen signature is prominently displayed, followed by the Datomaster inscription in a light blue hue that complements the sub-dial details.
Powering the Datomaster VK63 V3 is the reliable Seiko VK63 Meca-Quartz movement. This hybrid caliber combines quartz accuracy with a mechanical chronograph module, offering a high-frequency ticking motion for the stopwatch function. Operating at 32.768 Hz, the movement boasts an accuracy of +/- 20 seconds per month and a battery life of approximately three years.
Completing the watch’s vintage racing aesthetic, the Datomaster is paired with a brown leather rally strap featuring a stainless steel pin buckle. Limited to just 150 pieces, this exclusive timepiece is now available for pre-order at a price of €486.95, with deliveries expected to begin in July.
With its distinctive design, high-quality finishing, and accessible pricing, the Nivada Grenchen Datomaster VK63 V3 stands out as a must-have for enthusiasts seeking a timeless chronograph that blends vintage inspiration with modern functionality.
