Nivada Grenchen Expands Depthmaster Collection With The New Big Blue
The Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster is trending this year after the orange version with Arabic numerals in January, the bronze version with “Pac-Man” numerals in May and the recent “Purple Ghost” in the middle of this month, it now arrives in blue textured dial with geometric indexes.
The impressive diving watch debuted in 1965 and quickly distinguished itself from the competition. While the big brands were pushing the boundaries with water resistance ratings of 200 to 300 meters—considered a significant achievement at the time—the Depthmaster took it a step further with an astounding water resistance of 1,000 meters.
The new Depthmaster that now arrives in the collection features a stainless steel case, with a grained dial with rectangular and square hour makers leaving behind the iconic “Pac-Man” numerals that make up many of its siblings, Soprod P024 automatic movement and a rubber matching strap.
Housed in a cushion-shaped steel case 39mm in diameter by 13mm thick with a mainly brushed finish, 120-click unidirectional bezel with blue insert and beige 60-minute scale, drilled lugs, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with signature brand, recessed Helium escape valve at 9 o’clock, screwed solid case back and 1,000m water resistance.
The blue-grained dial presents applied indexes and a triangle at noon filled with beige Super-Luminova that also gives life in the dark to the three centre hands, a white minute track rehaut and the brand’s embossed inscriptions at 12 o’clock and “Depthmaster” followed of the watertight rating at 6 o’clock.
Powered by the Soprod P024 automatic movement that equips many of the brand’s other watches, it reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve.
The watch is attached to a blue Tropic rubber strap with a steel pin buckle engraved with the brand and is now available for €915.
