New TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Glassbox Sand Debuts As A 500-Piece European Exclusive
TAG Heuer expands its Carrera Chronograph Glassbox collection with the introduction of the new Carrera Chronograph Glassbox Sand Limited Edition, a European-exclusive release that combines vintage-inspired design cues with the brand’s modern chronograph technology.

Limited to just 500 pieces, the new model stands out with a distinctive sand-colored dial contrasted by dark anthracite chronograph registers, offering a fresh interpretation of the contemporary Carrera Chronograph.
Signature Glassbox Design
The new limited edition is housed in the familiar 39 mm stainless steel case of the Carrera Chronograph Glassbox series. Measuring 13.90 mm in thickness, the case combines brushed and polished finishes, enhancing its sporty yet refined character.

A defining feature of the collection remains the highly domed sapphire crystal, inspired by the curved acrylic crystals found on historic Carrera models from the 1960s. The absence of a traditional bezel allows the crystal to extend seamlessly toward the edges of the case, creating the characteristic “Glassbox” profile that gives the collection its name.
The case is equipped with a signed crown and classic pump-style chronograph pushers, while a sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the movement inside. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
Sand Dial with Contrasting Chronograph Displays
The highlight of the new release is its textured sand-colored dial, featuring a finely grained finish that gives the surface additional depth and character.

The chronograph registers and tachymeter flange are executed in anthracite, creating a strong contrast against the lighter dial background. The dial follows a tricompax layout, with a 30-minute counter positioned at 3 o’clock, a running seconds at 6 o’clock, and 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock.
Applied rhodium-plated hour markers and matching hands ensure excellent legibility, while the date display is discreetly integrated at 6 o’clock. Beige lacquered hands on the chronograph sub-dials complement the dial color and reinforce the watch’s cohesive aesthetic.
TH20-00 Automatic Chronograph Movement
Powering the Carrera Chronograph Glassbox Sand Limited Edition is TAG Heuer’s in-house TH20-00 automatic chronograph caliber.

Derived from the Heuer 02 architecture, the integrated movement features a column wheel and vertical clutch system, a combination valued for precise chronograph operation and smooth engagement of the timing functions.
The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and delivers an impressive power reserve of approximately 80 hours, making it suitable for extended periods off the wrist without requiring rewinding.
Racing-Inspired Strap
Completing the watch is a beige perforated calfskin leather strap, a nod to the racing heritage closely associated with the Carrera collection. The strap is paired with a stainless steel folding clasp featuring double safety push-buttons and an engraved TAG Heuer shield.
