New Noramis Chronograph Celebrates Classic Car Heritage
In celebration of the upcoming Sachsen Classic rally—scheduled from August 14 to 16, 2025 — Union Glashütte unveils a special edition of its Noramis Chronograph, continuing its tradition of honoring Germany’s rich automotive history. This year’s limited-edition timepiece draws design inspiration from a unique figure in East German motorsport heritage: the one-off 1952 Grosser Werkmeister sports car.

A Dial Reflecting Vintage Automotive Spirit
The watch’s silver-tone dial is enhanced with a distinctive perlage finish that echoes the handcrafted metalwork of classic racing machines. Two black subdials sit prominently at 3 and 9 o’clock, providing a bold contrast and improving legibility. The left subdial displays the running seconds and also houses a discreet date window, maintaining symmetry while delivering utility. The chronograph minute counter on the right side is accented with a red hand, a nod to the color cues used in dashboard instruments.

Around the edge of the dial, a black and red minute track continues the automotive theme, while the black hour and minute hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. The chronograph seconds hand features a red tip, adding a final sporty touch.
Precision Engineering in a Robust Case
Crafted from stainless steel, the Noramis Chronograph case measures 42 mm in diameter and 14.45 mm thick, striking a balance between contemporary presence and everyday wearability. The case design incorporates pump-style pushers, with the top pusher distinguished by a red anodized stem, offering both visual flair and tactile feedback.

Both the front and back of the watch are protected by sapphire crystal, showcasing the movement inside while safeguarding against scratches. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making it suitable for daily use and more.
In-House Movement and Extended Power Reserve
At the heart of the timepiece is the Union Glashütte UNG-27.S2 movement—a refined and enhanced version of the Valjoux 7753. This automatic chronograph caliber delivers a 65-hour power reserve, surpassing typical weekend autonomy and ensuring reliability across extended wear.
Limited Production and High-Quality Finishing
The Noramis Chronograph Sachsen Classic 2025 comes fitted with a black calfskin leather strap, featuring silver-grey stitching and secured with a double-folding clasp with push-button release. Each of the 350 numbered pieces is individually engraved on the caseback, reinforcing the exclusivity of the edition.

The retail price is set at € 3,600, offering collectors a compelling blend of motorsport heritage, German watchmaking craftsmanship, and mechanical performance.
