Meistersinger has just unveiled a stunning new limited edition that captures the soul of Lisbon: the Elétrico 28, a vibrant timepiece that pays tribute to the city’s most iconic yellow tram — the legendary Tram 28. Launched in Lisbon and limited to just 28 individually numbered pieces, this exclusive watch blends tradition, charm, and horological craftsmanship in perfect harmony.

A Watch Inspired by the Heart of Lisbon

Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Western Europe founded in 1,200 BC, is known for its steep hills, nostalgic cobbled streets, and the bright yellow trams that snake through its most picturesque neighborhoods. Among them, Tram 28 stands out as a symbol of Lisbon’s cultural identity — and now it inspires a watch just as timeless.

The Meistersinger Elétrico 28 channels that spirit through a bold burnt yellow dial, accented with details in red, black, and white — the same palette that dresses Lisbon’s iconic streetcar.

Distinctive Design and Limited Allure

Housed in a 40 mm polished stainless steel case, the Elétrico 28 features Meistersinger’s signature single-hand display, painted in black to match the minute track and the brand’s logo at 12 o’clock. The red two-digit Arabic numerals follow a 12-hour scale, meaning the central hand makes two full revolutions per day — a unique take on time-telling.

At 6 o’clock, the name ‘Elétrico 28’ is proudly displayed above a discreet round date window with a white background. The watch’s transparent caseback, secured by six screws, is adorned with a custom illustration of Tram 28 and the limited edition number in ‘X/28’ format.

Swiss Precision Meets Portuguese Soul

Powering the Elétrico 28 is the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, a 26-jewel Swiss caliber known for reliability and precision. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers 38 hours of power reserve, along with hacking seconds and manual winding capabilities.

A Collector’s Presentation

Each Elétrico 28 comes in a special edition box featuring the tram’s unmistakable design. The watch is paired with a stylish grey suede leather strap and an additional black cork strap, both fitted with stainless steel pin buckles.

Available exclusively at the historic Joalharia Ferreira Marques in downtown Lisbon, this tribute to Portugal’s capital is priced at €2,560. And if you’re eyeing number 8, you’re out of luck — it was snapped up during the launch event by an American tourist! But as of the event, the remaining 27 pieces were still available.
