New Eska Racing Chronograph: Entry-Level Automatic Chronograph
The Racing Chronograph marks Eska’s latest step into mechanically driven, entry-level chronographs, introducing two colour-forward references designed around clarity, balance, and straightforward usability. Positioned within the brand’s Light collection, the model combines a classic bi-compax display with modern manufacturing choices aimed at keeping pricing accessible.

Stainless Steel Case with Traditional Chronograph Geometry
The watch is built around a 41 mm case made from 316L stainless steel. Its profile remains restrained for a chronograph, measuring 12.80 mm in height, or 14.90 mm when including the domed sapphire crystal. The case design follows established chronograph conventions, with rounded pushers flanking a fluted crown and a solid, screw-secured caseback.

An engraved cityscape decorates the rear, adding a graphic element without affecting wearability. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, sufficient for daily activities but clearly not intended for aquatic use.
Two Distinct Dial Constructions
Eska offers the Racing Chronograph in two visually differentiated executions, each using the same underlying layout but applying contrasting typographic and colour strategies. The Azur version features a blue dial with a brushed surface treatment. White minute and chronograph scales are printed for legibility, while the hour indications are rendered using baton markers supplemented by Arabic numerals at 12 and 6. A red chronograph seconds hand provides immediate visual separation from the timekeeping elements.

The Sunset configuration introduces a salmon-coloured dial with a matte finish. Blue printed tracks frame the display, while white italicised numerals replace the batons used on the Azur. The chronograph seconds hand is finished in blue, reinforcing the colour contrast across the dial. Both models use a bi-compax arrangement, with a 30-minute chronograph counter positioned at 3 o’clock and a running seconds display at 9 o’clock.
Automatic Chronograph Movement
Inside the Racing Chronograph is the SL4617 automatic calibre. The movement operates at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. Its construction follows the well-known Valjoux 7750 architecture and is manufactured by Liaoning Peacock Watch Co., a supplier frequently used in affordable mechanical chronographs.

The choice of movement reflects a practical approach, prioritising serviceability and cost control. Assembly and final regulation are carried out in France.
Wear and Delivery
The watch is supplied on a stitched leather strap and is packaged with a travel pouch. With a retail price of € 408 before taxes, the Eska Racing Chronograph sits firmly within the lower end of the mechanical chronograph segment, offering automatic functionality, sapphire crystal, and a steel case at a competitive entry point.

Rather than relying on complication count or novelty, the Racing Chronograph focuses on familiar chronograph architecture, colour differentiation, and simplified production — a combination that defines its role within Eska’s modern catalogue.
