New Breitling Top Time B31 Drops The Chronograph For A Cleaner Look
Breitling continues to evolve its iconic Top Time collection, originally reintroduced in 2020, by stepping away from the chronograph complication in favor of a more classic time-date function. Following the same design philosophy as the Chronomat and Navitimer, the new Breitling Top Time B31 embraces a cleaner aesthetic, a smaller case, a brand-new movement, and a more accessible price point.
The Breitling Top Time B31 features a round stainless steel case measuring 38mm in diameter, 10.30mm in thickness, and 45.80mm lug-to-lug, marking a significant reduction of 3mm in both width and height compared to its predecessors. The case presents a polished finish on the surfaces with a brushed profile, complemented by a fluted crown at 3 o’clock, a sapphire crystal with a magnifier for the date, and a screwed open case back ensuring 100 meters of water resistance.
Offered in three distinct dial variations, the Top Time B31 presents a matte textured white dial with a light blue outer ring, a vertically brushed blue dial with a white outer ring, and a green variant with a black outer ring. Each dial is adorned with applied hour markers and hands coated in Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility. A date window is positioned near the crown, while an orange center seconds hand and a gold-embossed Breitling logo at noon further elevate the design. A printed minute and second track along the outer edges enhances legibility.
At the core of this refined timepiece is the all-new Breitling Caliber B31, a movement that took four years to develop. COSC-certified for precision, it offers an impressive accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and delivers a robust 78-hour power reserve.
Completing the look, the Breitling Top Time B31 is available with either a perforated leather strap or a three-row stainless steel bracelet equipped with a micro-adjustable folding clasp.
