New Avenger Night Mission Chronographs Pay Tribute To U.S. Naval Forces
Breitling’s affiliations with the world of aviation are historic, however, they almost always appear associated with its Navytimer model for well-known reasons, but today the brand brings us something different with three new Avenger Nigh Mission models paying homage to U.S. Naval Aviation Forces.
The new B01 chronographs come with the colours and emblems of three of these units, namely: US Naval Academy, VX-30 Bloodhounds test squadron and VX-31 Dust Devils test squadron.
On the outside, the watches wear a robust black ceramic case 46mm wide, 15.20mm high and 53mm lug-to-lug distance, bezel with claws and pip-lume at noon, sapphire crystal, crown flanked by rectangular pushers all in titanium and which material also extends to the open rear case that is engraved with the name of each of these units, and last but not least, 300m of waterproofing.
On the dial we find a Tri-Compax layout with three black registers at 3-6-9 o’clock substantiated by a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour register embracing a date window and a running seconds with the unit’s coat of arms in the background. A chronograph centre seconds hand and a minute track rehaut along the edges.
The US Naval Academy comes with a matte blue dial with yellow accents and a blue strap, the USN Dust Devils comes with a black dial with red details and a black strap with red stitching and finally, the USN Bloodhounds comes with an anthracite dial with yellow attributes and a black strap with yellow stitching.
The new Avenger Night Mission is powered by the Manufacture B01 automatic movement that features a column wheel, is COSC-certified, runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 70 hours of power reserve.
The watches come attached to a tapered textured leather strap matching the colours of the dials and a titanium pin buckle, with a price tag of €9,400.
