Navigating Style: The New Bell & Ross BR-03 GMT Compass
Bell & Ross takes inspiration from aviation instruments once again with the new BR-03 GMT Compass, a 2025 limited edition of 500 pieces. As the latest creation in the brand’s “Flight Instrument” series, it blends the visual language of an aircraft’s magnetic compass with the practicality of a modern GMT watch, delivering a design that feels both technical and versatile.

A Case Inspired by Flight Instruments
Staying true to the brand’s distinctive design codes, the BR-03 GMT Compass features the iconic square case of the BR-03 collection, crafted from brushed and polished stainless steel. Slightly larger than the standard time-and-date models, it measures 42 mm in diameter and 12.30 mm thick, giving it a robust yet wearable presence on the wrist.

The watch comes equipped with two interchangeable straps: a black rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle and a black synthetic fabric strap secured by a Velcro system — both attached using a screw-based setup for enhanced durability.
Functionality and Design
The new model maintains the 100-meter water resistance characteristic of the BR-03 line and features a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Around the crystal is a bidirectional rotating bezel with a 24-hour scale, fitted with a black and blue anodized aluminum insert — a color scheme now synonymous with dual-time watches.

The black dial pays tribute to the cockpit compass through its crosshair layout and detailed compass-style handset. The GMT hand, shaped like a double-sided diamond and finished in bright red, clearly distinguishes the second time zone, while a blue seconds hand visually complements the bezel tones. A small circular date window is discreetly placed at 4:30 for balance.

Adding to its aviation-inspired character, the outer flange displays a 360-degree compass scale, enhancing the overall thematic design. While primarily aesthetic, Bell & Ross notes that the dial can also be used as a solar compass, allowing orientation using the sun and the 24-hour hand — a nod to traditional navigation methods.
Movement and Performance
Inside, the BR-03 GMT Compass houses the BR-CAL.303 automatic movement, based on the reliable Sellita SW330. This caller-style GMT allows independent adjustment of the 24-hour hand and date, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with a 56-hour power reserve. The movement offers proven reliability and precision, ideal for travelers who appreciate both functionality and mechanical craftsmanship.
A Limited Edition for Enthusiasts
Produced in a limited run of 500 pieces, the Bell & Ross BR-03 GMT Compass embodies the brand’s continued exploration of aviation heritage. With its unique design inspired by cockpit instruments and its dual-time functionality, this model stands out as one of the most balanced creations in the “Flight Instrument” series — technical in spirit, yet refined enough for everyday wear.

The watch is priced at € 4,900, reflecting its limited-edition status and distinctive design approach.
