Movado Brings Back The Charm Of 1917 With Its New Heritage Collection
Movado revisits its rich heritage with the introduction of the new Heritage 1917 collection, a line inspired by the brand’s early 20th-century square wristwatches. Combining vintage elegance with modern Swiss engineering, the collection brings back the refined geometry and Art Deco spirit of 1917, marking a distinctive return for Movado in the world of mechanical timepieces.
A Return to the Square Form
The Movado Heritage 1917 collection reinterprets the square case design that characterized many early wristwatches. The new models are offered in two sizes: 35 mm for automatic mechanical versions and 25 mm for quartz models. The 35 mm case size, though compact by modern standards, wears larger thanks to its square proportions and is suitable for both men and women seeking a versatile, refined watch with a vintage silhouette.

Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the collection also includes variants with ion-plated accents, such as gold-toned bezels and markers. The reference 3650257 stands out as a two-tone model featuring a gold-plated bezel, matching hands, and hour markers set against a charcoal gray sunburst dial.

In addition to this two-tone version, the 35 mm automatic lineup features two steel bracelet models—one with a cool blue dial and another with a vintage blue dial—as well as two leather strap variants, one with a green dial and the other with a silver white dial. Together, these five versions showcase a refined mix of colors and finishes that balance heritage aesthetics with contemporary appeal.
Classic Design Meets Modern Construction
The case measures approximately 44.60 mm lug-to-lug and 9 mm in thickness, topped by a curved sapphire crystal that enhances clarity and reduces glare. The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters, sufficient for daily wear. The dial features a mix of Arabic numerals and baton hour markers, complemented by luminous hands for legibility in low light.

At the heart of the 35mm Heritage 1917 models is the Swiss Made Sellita SW200 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with a two-day power reserve. The movement can be admired through the exhibition caseback, complete with a customized Movado rotor.
Bracelet and Comfort
Movado equips the Heritage 1917 automatic versions with a single-link steel bracelet, secured by a butterfly-style deployant clasp with push-button release. Despite its solid construction, the bracelet’s design ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. Leather strap options are also available, offering a more classic, dress-oriented style.
A Heritage Revival for a New Era
With the Heritage 1917, Movado successfully merges its historical design language with contemporary watchmaking standards. The watch’s compact proportions, solid construction, and reliable Swiss movement make it an appealing choice for those who appreciate understated elegance and mechanical craftsmanship.

The Movado Heritage 1917 is available in 11 variants—five automatic models (35 mm) and six quartz versions (25 mm)—the automatic ones are priced at € 1,395 on leather strap and € 1,695 on steel bracelet.
