Moritz Grossmann Introduces Two Vibrant Guilloché GMT Models
Moritz Grossmann, renowned for its dedication to traditional German watchmaking, unveils two new editions of its GMT model featuring finely executed hand-guilloché dials in striking summer hues: green and orange. These timepieces combine intricate craftsmanship with travel-friendly functionality, all housed in elegant 41 mm stainless steel cases.

Hand-Guilloché Dials: A Showcase of Craftsmanship
The new dials are crafted from solid silver and decorated with an elaborate wave-pattern guilloché, achieved using a traditional rose engine lathe. This labor-intensive process ensures each pattern maintains precise spacing and depth across the surface. After engraving, the dials are diamond-polished to achieve a brilliant reflective base, followed by the application of vibrant matte finishes—green for one version and orange for the other. This results in a captivating effect as light interacts with the rippled textures.

To maintain focus on the dial’s artistry, the watches omit applied markers. Instead, small white dots are printed on the sloped flange ring to indicate the hours and minutes, allowing the guilloché work to remain uninterrupted.
Dual Time Zone Functionality
The GMT complication is clearly displayed with a 24-hour scale printed on the inner flange and an triangle-shaped indicator that revolves to mark the home or reference time. A secondary crown, positioned at 10 o’clock, enables adjustment of this pointer in hourly increments—both forward and backward—without disturbing the central hands, making it especially practical for frequent travelers.

Local time is indicated via the central hour and minute hands, with a small seconds sub-dial located at 6 o’clock. The hands are crafted in the brand’s signature lance shape, thermally blued for the green dial model and rendered in polished steel for the orange variant.
Refined Stainless Steel Case and Intelligent Time Setting
The 41 mm polished stainless steel case is 11.85 mm thick and features a recessed pusher at 4 o’clock. This component plays a key role in Moritz Grossmann’s signature time-setting mechanism. When the crown is pulled to set the time, it automatically returns to its neutral position while activating a stop-seconds function. Once the time is precisely set, pressing the pusher restarts the movement and returns the crown to winding mode. This system enhances precision and reduces mechanical stress on the movement while also protecting the watch from dust intrusion.

In-House Calibre 100.8
Inside the GMT Guilloché models beats the manually wound calibre 100.8. Designed and manufactured in-house, the movement incorporates the GMT complication directly on the dial side. It features a traditional 2/3 plate in untreated German silver, adorned with wide Glashütte ribbing. Hand-engraved inscriptions, a snailing pattern on the ratchet wheel, and raised gold chatons with white sapphire bearings contribute to the movement’s artisanal character. Mauve-colored screws, heat-treated by hand, further accentuate the refined decoration.

A cantilevered balance cock and escape-wheel cock, both hand-engraved, support the Grossmann balance wheel. Operating at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, the calibre offers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound.

Each dial color is limited to just eight pieces worldwide, underlining the exclusivity of these hand-finished timepieces. Both versions are fitted with black alligator leather straps and fastened with a stainless steel prong buckle.
