Moritz Grossmann Benu Power Reserve: A Fresh Take On A Classic
The Moritz Grossmann Benu Power Reserve welcomes two elegant new references in gold, expanding the collection with refined updates that highlight the brand’s dedication to traditional Saxon watchmaking. Introduced in 2013, the Benu Power Reserve is recognized for its distinctive linear power reserve display, and the latest models continue this legacy with refreshed sector-style dials that balance technical precision and understated design.

Refined Dial Design
The dial features a sector-style layout with subtle contrasts in textures and finishes. At the top, the unique linear power reserve indicator just below 12 o’clock with a blue and white bar. When the mainspring is fully wound, the bar appears white, gradually shifting as the energy decreases.

The dial combines several decorative techniques: a slightly elevated smooth peripheral minute track printed in dark grey, a chapter ring with fine azurage engraving, and a matte grained central section that creates a refined, understated contrast. Applied blue Arabic numerals and markers add depth, while a recessed small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock mirrors the smooth finish of the outer track.

The hands, crafted entirely in-house, represent one of Grossmann’s hallmarks. For these editions, the steel hands adopt a subtly wider profile, finished with bevelling and tempered to a rich blue that echoes the markers and the power reserve bar.
Case and Movement
Both new references are presented in the Benu’s three-part case design, measuring 41 mm in diameter and 11.65 mm in height. Available in white gold or rose gold, the case features elegantly curved lugs and incorporates Grossmann’s patented winder-and-pusher system, which improves dust protection when adjusting the crown.

Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the manual-winding calibre 100.2 is revealed. This traditional Saxon movement is built on a pillar architecture with a German silver plate bridge, decorated with Glashütte ribbing. The hand-engraved balance cock underscores the artisanal craftsmanship of the brand. The calibre operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve.
Strap and Price
Each watch is fitted with a soft grey Kudu leather strap, accented by blue stitching that ties in with the dial’s blue details.

The Moritz Grossmann Benu Power Reserve in white or rose gold is priced at € 53,300. These new variations continue to reinforce the brand’s position as a guardian of Glashütte’s refined watchmaking tradition, blending classical mechanics with a fresh design approach.
