Montoir Expands Its Dive Watch Collection With Four Vibrant New Colors
In 2023, the Montoir brand made its debut with a stunning diving watch that quickly garnered attention among watch enthusiasts. Now, the Chicago-based company has expanded its collection with the release of four new color options, once again leveraging the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to bring these timepieces to market. This strategy, often employed by microbrands, underscores Montoir’s commitment to engaging directly with its audience and delivering high-quality yet accessible diving watches.
The new lineup introduces dials in mint, salmon, and cool grey, with the cool grey version featuring a striking black bezel. Additionally, a vibrant green variant with a matching bezel is also part of this refreshed collection. These new options join the existing trio of black, polar white (both with black bezels), and blue (with a matching bezel), offering even more versatility to collectors and divers alike.
Each watch in the collection is crafted with precision, featuring a brushed stainless steel case measuring 40.50mm in diameter, 11.95mm in thickness, and 48mm lug-to-lug. The unidirectional bezel, complete with a diving scale and a luminous pip at the 12 o’clock position, enhances its functionality for underwater adventures. The double-domed sapphire crystal and fluted crown at 3 o’clock further emphasize its robust design, while the screwed solid case back, engraved with a detailed diving helmet motif, adds an extra layer of character. With a water resistance of up to 200 meters, these watches are built to perform under pressure.
The dials of the mint, salmon, and cool grey variants feature a matte finish, while the green model stands out with a luxurious sunburst effect. All dials are equipped with printed indexes and hands filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9, which emits a stunning turquoise glow in low-light conditions. Additional details include a precise minute and second track around the edges, a central seconds hand, and branding at the 12 o’clock position. The water resistance rating is neatly displayed at 6 o’clock, ensuring both form and function are well-balanced.
Powering these timepieces is the reliable SW200-1 automatic movement. This 26-jewel caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and provides a power reserve of up to 38 hours, making it a dependable choice for everyday wear and diving expeditions.
Each watch is paired with a durable Tropic FKM rubber strap, secured with a stainless steel pin buckle, ensuring both comfort and style. During the pre-order phase on Kickstarter, the watches are attractively priced at $399 for a single unit, $725 for two, and $1,050 for three. Once the campaign concludes, the retail price will rise to $875, making the pre-order period the perfect opportunity to secure one of these versatile and stylish diving watches.
With its impressive specifications, vibrant new color options, and accessible pricing, the latest Montoir diving watch collection continues to solidify the brand’s reputation for delivering high-quality timepieces that appeal to both seasoned collectors and newcomers to the world of watches.
