Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Completes The Antarctic Ice Marathon Without Breaking
It was on December 13, 2023, that the 18th Antarctic Ice Marathon took place, in extreme conditions with temperatures around -30º C and among the participants were Laurent Lecamp, Montblanc’s Watch Division Managing Director and Simon Messner, Ambassador of brand.

The tough endurance race, which spanned 42,195 km, was completed by Laurent Lecamp and Simon Messner in 4 hours and 29 seconds, together they crossed the finish line in seventh place, and both ran equipped with the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South watch Pole, a limited-edition of 1900 pieces made to honor the race (18th Antarctic Ice Marathon).

The watch, which uses a lightweight titanium case measuring 42 mm in diameter and 12.80 mm in thickness, has the main feature of coming with 0% oxygen inside, which is clearly evident in its name, thus preventing fogging and oxidation. It also features sapphire crystal, rotating compass bezel with blue aluminum insert filled with luminescent material, fluted crown with the brand’s signature, case back engraved with Aurora Australis and 100m waterproof.

The dial comes with an iced blue glacier pattern, featuring two hemispheres at 12 and 6 o’clock which, together with a second time zone display at 9 o’clock, are filled with blue lume. On the dial we can also find applied hour markers, Arabic numerals and Cathedral hands all filled with luminescent material that, like the bezel, glows green in the dark, and finally a date window at 3 o’clock next to the crown.

Inside, the watch is equipped with the Caliber MB 29.25 automatic movement, which is based on the Sellita SW300 plus the World Time module, which operates 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours power reserve.
The watch comes attached to a titanium bracelet and a grey textile strap that can be purchased at official brand boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €7,800.
