Mido Multifort TV Big Date Enters Titanium Era
Mido’s TV-shaped case design returns with the latest addition, the Multifort TV Big Date Titanium, which enhances the collection with a lightweight and durable titanium construction, using this material in the collection for the first time.
The watch is presented in a 39.20 x 40 mm rounded rectangular case with a thickness of 11.50 mm. Crafted from titanium, the case is notable for its durability and reduced weight, making it an appealing everyday option. Its design is instantly recognizable with the wide vertically brushed bezel, recessed sandblasted pip at 12 o’clock, protective crown guards, and a screw-down crown that ensures water resistance up to 100 meters.
At the heart of the design is the oversized date display, positioned at 12 o’clock. Using two separate discs with black backgrounds and white numerals, the “Big Date” offers enhanced readability, with digits nearly three times larger than traditional date windows.
The dial continues Mido’s characteristic Multifort aesthetic with horizontal grooves in relief across its surface. Executed in a gradient silvery-grey, the dial fades from a lighter center to darker tones at the edges, complemented by a sloping flange in deeper grey. Applied indices with white Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility in low light. The baton-style hour and minute hands also feature luminous inserts for clarity at a glance.
Inside, the watch is powered by the Powermatic 80 automatic movement, a modern caliber developed within the Swatch Group. Featuring a Nivachron balance spring for improved resistance to shocks and magnetism, the movement offers a generous 80-hour power reserve. The decorated rotor, finished with Geneva stripes, is visible through the transparent caseback.
Completing the piece is a titanium bracelet with a satin-brushed finish on the outer links and polished central links, secured by a folding clasp. Thanks to quick-release push pins, the bracelet can be swapped without tools, offering flexibility for the wearer.
Now part of Mido’s permanent collection, the Multifort TV Big Date Titanium is available at a retail price of CHF 1,290. It represents a refined yet accessible entry into the world of titanium sports watches, combining vintage-inspired design with modern engineering.
