Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns – A Sporty Elegance With Integrated Design
Mido expands its Multifort collection with the Multifort 8 Two Crowns, a watch that blends classic sport watch elements with a distinctive integrated-style case. Designed for versatility, it features a slim and compact profile while maintaining robust functionality. With its balanced proportions and high-quality construction, this latest addition to the Multifort lineup reinforces Mido’s dedication to precision and durability.
The 40mm stainless steel case is defined by its 9.5mm thickness and 44.86mm lug-to-lug measurement, offering a streamlined fit on the wrist. The design is inspired by the 1970s luxury sports watch aesthetic, featuring a barrel-shaped middle case and a raised octagonal bezel with polished facets and a brushed top surface. Two screw-down crowns contribute to the watch’s distinctive look and functionality: one at 2 o’clock for operating the inner rotating bezel and another at 4 o’clock for winding and time-setting. The case offers 100 meters of water resistance, making it suitable for various conditions, though not a full dive watch.
The dial is available in black, blue, and gray-green, each offering a refined and highly legible layout. The horizontal striped texture in the center adds depth, while the recessed hour markers create a striking three-dimensional effect. The baton-style hands and indexes are filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. A date window at 3 o’clock provides additional practicality, while the flanged inner rotating bezel features a 60-minute scale for timing functions.
Inside the case, the Caliber 72 powers the Multifort 8 Two Crowns. This movement, based on the ETA 2892-A2, is engineered for slimness and efficiency. Operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5Hz), it includes 21 jewels and offers an extended 72-hour power reserve. The Nivachron balance spring provides enhanced anti-magnetic properties, improving long-term reliability. The movement is visible through the screw-in exhibition case back, allowing a glimpse of its refined architecture.
This new Mido model is available in three configurations: a black dial with a stainless steel bracelet and black PVD-coated crowns, a blue dial with a matching rubber strap and blue PVD-coated crowns, and a gray-green dial with a stainless steel bracelet and standard crowns. Both the bracelet and rubber strap feature quick-release spring bars, allowing easy interchangeability for different wearing styles.
The Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns is priced at CHF 1,150 on the bracelet and CHF 1,120 on the rubber strap, offering a well-balanced combination of design, functionality, and affordability.
With its refined proportions, intricate details, and integrated design, the Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns stands out as a well-balanced addition to the brand’s lineup. It merges sportiness with elegance, offering a sleek yet functional option for enthusiasts who appreciate precision engineering in a compact, stylish package.
