Maurice de Mauriac Teams Up Again With Racquet Magazine To Present The Rallymaster II
Last year we saw Maurice de Mauriac in partnership with Racquet Magazine present the Rallymaster, a limited edition of 40 timepieces designed by Carlton DeWoody, which sold out in the blink of an eye. Given the success achieved, the same partnership is now launching a re-edition of the same watch, called Rallymaster II.
The connection between the Swiss watchmaking brand Maurice de Mauriac and the professional tennis circuit is long-standing, having occasionally been a sponsor of some ATP Tour tournaments over the last few years and also managed to get some stars from the WTA circuit to become brand ambassadors.
The new Rallymaster, which is a faithful copy of the 2022 edition, now has a light blue dial, everything else layout remains unchanged. On the textured surface, we can find, a tennis court net drawn that occupies the width of the dial, white applied round hour indexes and pencil hands all filled with luminescent material, to which the top and bottom lines of the net are also added, as well as the small-seconds hand with the shape and colour of a tennis ball. A date window at 3 o’clock with a magnifier glass, a tri-colour counter at 9 o’clock and a grey chapter ring.
On the outside, the same stainless steel case measuring 39mm in diameter and 12mm thick with a full brushed finish, sapphire glass on both sides, fluted crown at 3 o’clock and 100m water resistance.
Inside, the Caliber Landeron 24 automatic movement operates, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 40 hours of power reserve. The same movement can be seen through the open case back designed with a racket motif and a yellow tennis ball painted in the centre of the rotor.
The watch is offered with two NATO-type nylon straps, one in pink and the other in blue, both with a white vertical central stripe along its entire length.
It is not a limited edition but a limited production that was on pre-sale during the US Open (August 28 – September 10) which can be purchased for the price of USD 1,950.
