Mastering Precision: Bulova’s Marine Star Series C Sets New Standards With Precisionist Movement
Bulova has just introduced the Marine Star Series C, whose main highlight is its Quartz Precisionist movement.
It was last year that we saw the arrival of Precisionist technology with the exclusive Bulova Jet Star, which is a high-precision Quartz movement operating at a high frequency of 262 kHz with 16 beats per second that makes the second hand move a lot smoother, eight times better than standard Quartz movements and putting automatic and Hi-beat movements almost to shame.
On the outside, the new Marine Star comes in a stainless steel case measuring 43mm in diameter and 12mm thick, mainly brushed and with polished bevels, featuring a 12-sided diving bezel with black ceramic insert, sapphire glass, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and large guards, screwed case back and 200m of waterproofing.
The dial, in addition to the movement we have already talked about, is perhaps the biggest attraction point of the new dive watch, featuring an attractive textured pattern in yellow waves, where we can find applied hour markers with the 12 o’clock marker being replaced by the brand’s logo and which, like the three central hands, are all filled with luminescent material that glows blue in the dark. Framed date window next to the crown on a white background, a minute track chapter ring and finally the embossed inscription of the brand and model followed by the “200m” of waterproof at noon and at 6 o’clock the “262 kHz” referring to the movement.
The watch comes attached to a textured black rubber strap with a wave pattern like the dial and a steel pin buckle with the brand’s signature.
As is usual for the brand, the watch comes at a very competitive price of USD 695 because it comes with a Precisionist technology, ceramic insert bezel, sapphire glass, textured dial and 200m water resistance, making it look like a bargain.
In addition to this model, there are two more variants, one that comes with an off-white dial and is attached to a steel bracelet priced at USD 795 and another that comes in a rose gold plated steel case, with a brown dial and gilt accents attached to a black rubber strap priced at USD 750.
