Marathon Watch Company has introduced a bold new chapter in its storied Navigator lineup with the release of the Navigator “Blue Yonder” Limited Edition. Limited to just 500 pieces, this special model marks the first time Marathon applies a vibrant color treatment to the traditionally subdued and utilitarian Navigator series, offering a distinct visual identity while preserving its operational DNA.

Built for Precision and Performance

Originally developed in 1986 for military pilots and parachutists, the Marathon Navigator was engineered to meet rigorous field-use requirements. The “Blue Yonder” continues that legacy with a robust 41 mm asymmetrical case, crafted from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. This specific case design—featuring extended crown guards—enhances durability and minimizes potential snag points during tactical operations.

The brushed finish reduces light reflection, a feature aligned with the needs of military personnel operating in variable lighting environments. Like all Marathon field-ready timepieces, this edition is built to stringent military specifications (MIL-PRF-46374G, Type I, Class 1).

Aviation-Inspired Aesthetics

As the name suggests, the “Blue Yonder” pays tribute to the open skies and the airmen who navigate them. A standout feature is the blue anodized aluminum bezel—the first time Marathon has used a colored bezel insert on its steel Navigator models. This element brings a refined aviation-inspired look without compromising the tool-watch nature of the design.

The matte blue dial complements the bezel and is paired with a navy blue rubber strap, enhancing both comfort and wrist presence. Legibility remains a top priority, with tritium gas tube illumination applied to each hour marker and the hour and minute hands. These self-powered tubes provide continuous low-light visibility without the need for charging, a critical asset for pilots and field professionals.

Swiss-Made Accuracy at the Core

Inside, the “Blue Yonder” is powered by the ETA F06.412 quartz movement. This Swiss-made caliber incorporates HeavyDrive and PreciDrive technologies, which provide superior shock resistance and exceptional timekeeping accuracy—rated to ±10 seconds per year. This makes it the most precise movement in Marathon’s current Navigator range.
