LVMH Watch Week 2023 – TAG Heuer Novelties

TAG Heuer makes its LVMH debut this week with half a dozen novelties, and if smartwatches are at an advantage through three of the six launches over the Caliber E4 baton, there are also three novelties to register between mechanical and solar energy movements, the latter of which we will focus on.

Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary

And starting with the mechanics, we highlight the Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary, which stands out for its Panda dial.

As the name implies, it is a commemorative edition of the 60th anniversary of the Carrera Chronograph, inspired by ref. 2447 and that comes with a retro look reminiscent of the old and late Heuer.

The white dial houses three black registers at 3-6-9 o’clock, applied plated hour markers and faceted hands filled with beige luminescent material, black central seconds hand matching the inscriptions of “Carrera” and the Heuer shield at 12 o’clock.

The new column wheel chronograph is powered by the Caliber Heuer 02 which operates 28,800 Vph and offers up to 80 hours of power reserve.

The watch comes on a black rally leather strap and is limited to 600 pieces.

Monza Flyback Chronometer

The new Monza, whose roots go back to the 70s and which served to commemorate Ferrari’s victory in the 1976 F1 World Championship, now appears with a completely contemporary look.

Unlike the last edition that wore a vintage look, the previous coated black case is now replaced by a carbon case in different shades of grey.

But the novelties of the new Monza are not limited to the carbon case, as the dial also shows a fresh inspiration through a skeletonized dial with a new arrangement translated into two registers in transparent blue tones at 3 and 6 o’clock and a date window at 9 o’clock. Also noteworthy on the dial are the bridges in black tones that serve as the basis for the blue hour markers that combine with the central second’s hand, white hour and minute hands and even several notes in red.

Inside, the impressive Caliber Heuer 02 Flyback stands out, which is based on the Caliber Heuer 02 but now adds the Flyback function (which allows you to erase and restart the stopwatch without having to stop it) and is COSC certified.

The new Monza comes with a black textile strap with blue stitching and a carbon folding clasp.

Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph

And after last year introducing the Aquaracer Professional 200 powered by solar energy for the first time, it now launches a new variant with a more classic look.

The new Aquaracer now comes with a titanium case and bracelet with a sand-blasted finish, which extends to the bezel, remember that the launch version came with a black coated case and carbon insert bezel accompanied by a rubber strap in the same tone.

And if the external differences are evident, the dial stands out for its continuity, through the black background with a pattern of horizontal stripes, applied hour markers and hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, date window at 3 o’clock, central turquoise seconds hand and markers, and the usual white inscriptions of “Aquaracer” followed by the brand’s logo at 12 o’clock and “200m/660ft” at 6 o’clock which in this new variant adds the inscription “Solargraph” in turquoise.

As already mentioned, the latest Aquaracer it’s solar-powered quartz, through the TH50-00 movement.
