With LVMH Watch Week having taken place a few weeks ago, Louis Vuitton is already making waves with the introduction of three exclusive new versions of the Tambour. Originally launched over two years ago, the iconic luxury timepiece now arrives in premium materials and limited editions, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to haute horology.
The new Tambour models share several distinctive features with the 2023 edition. Each comes in a 40mm round case with an integrated bracelet, topped with a sapphire crystal. The signature fluted crown at 3 o’clock, adorned with the brand’s logo, enhances the refined aesthetics. An open case back secured by eight screws provides a glimpse of the movement inside, while the watch offers a water resistance of 50 meters. The stepped sector dial is marked by openworked hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, and a minute track ring along the edges. The iconic Louis Vuitton lettering at noon is preceded by its home city, Paris. Powering the watch is the LFT023.01 micro-rotor automatic movement, offering an accuracy of +6/-4 seconds per day, operating at 28,800 Vph, and delivering a power reserve of up to 50 hours. Among the three distinct editions, the Tambour Ceramic stands out with a brown ceramic case complemented by an 18k pink gold inner body. For those seeking ultimate luxury, the Tambour Platinum Rainbow features a platinum case with a dazzling gemstone bezel adorned with 59 rubies and sapphires sourced from Sri Lanka and Mozambique. A 1.6mm saffron sapphire embellishes the case back, while the opaline dial showcases white gold hands and indexes with matching gemstone hour markers. The integrated platinum bracelet is secured with an 18k white gold folding clasp. Limited to just 50 pieces, this masterpiece is priced at €150,000, making it the most expensive of the three.
Completing the trio is the Tambour Yellow Gold Onyx, crafted from 18k yellow gold and featuring an integrated bracelet. The bezel is adorned with 59 saffron sapphires, while the Brazilian onyx dial perfectly complements the gold indexes and hands. Saffron sapphire hour markers add an extra touch of elegance. With only 30 units available, this exceptional edition is priced at €130,000.
