Longines Spirit Flyback Now Arrives In Titanium
The Longines Spirit Flyback, now available in titanium, is the first in the collection to use this type of material. Featuring an anthracite background and gilt accents on the dial, which are now joined by details in red. Available with a matching bracelet or grey Nato strap.
Longines’ Spirit collection, which evokes the roots of aviation, has been in the spotlight recently and it’s easy to see why, as its watches feature a beautiful classic design based on contemporary lines, reliable COSC-certified movements and all this at an interesting price.
It is therefore not surprising that the brand’s strategy involves the successive introduction of new models and variants and it is in this last field that the arrival of the new Spirit Flyback in titanium has now been announced, which is an absolute debut within the line in this material with anti-allergic properties, lightweight and hardness.
So on the outside, the new chronograph has the same round case shape as its peers with a slightly darker tone provided by the “new” material, measuring 42mm in diameter and 17mm thick (which continues to be its Achilles heel), bidirectional bezel with black ceramic insert, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock and two pump-pushers, sapphire glass on both sides and 100m water resistance.
The dial follows the same colour scheme as the steel version with an anthracite background, featuring gilt-applied Arabic numerals and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a 30-minute counter and a running seconds at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively, and a centre chronograph seconds hand which here comes with the tip painted red like the inscription “Flyback” at 6 o’clock.
Inside, it continues to be powered by the automatic movement Caliber L791.4, which is COSC certified and features a silicone balance spring, offering up to 68 hours of power reserve.
Like most steel variants, the new Spirit Flyback is offered on a 3-link bracelet in the same material as the case or on a black NATO strap.
As for prices, they vary between €5,550 for the strap version and €5,900 for the bracelet one, representing approximately a prize of €500 and €700 compared to the steel versions.
