Longines Presents The Conquest Chronograph Marco Odermatt Limited Edition
Longines’ connection with the sport of skiing is historic with roots dating back almost a century and extending to the present day, being the current main partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and Timekeeper for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and FIS World Champion.
It is not surprising that the watch brand has had Marco Odermatt, the medal-winning Swiss athlete, as a brand ambassador since 2019.
It is in this narrative that Longines, together with the Swiss professional skier, is now launching a limited edition of 2,042 pieces of the Conquest Chronograph watch.
The watch which is based on the other models in the collection, comes with a set of unique details and to which is added a new color on the dial.
On the outside, it has the same round stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and 14.30mm thick, fixed bezel with blue ceramic tachymeter insert, sapphire glass on both sides, screw-down crown protected by crown guards and flanked by two pushers, and finally, 100m water resistance.
On the sunburst blue dial we can find three sub-dials in silver tones matching the outer ring whose hands dedicated to the chronograph function come with the tip painted in red including the chronograph centre seconds hand, applied hour markers that on the four main caridial points come filled with luminescent material as with the two Dauphine hands.
At its heart, there is nothing new, continuing to operate the Caliber L.898.5 automatic movement that comes with a silicon balance spring, operating 28,800 Vph and offering up to 59 hours of power reserve. It is also worth noting that the sapphire crystal that protects the movement is adorned with the Alpine Skiing World Cup emblem in the shape of a globe.
Unlike the regular versions, the watch here comes attached to a blue fabric strap instead of the traditional steel bracelet, with white stitching whose finishing points are made with red thread to match the details on the dial in the same tone. The set also includes an additional blue Nato strap and can be purchased for CHF 3,800.
