Longines Marks 65 Years Of The Legend Diver In Three Fresh Colors
Inspired by the Super-Compressor diving watch ref. 7042 from 1959, the Longines Legend Diver was available until the middle of last year in a wide 42mm version and a small 36mm version, leaving a large gap between the two sizes, a problem that was solved with the arrival of the new 39mm size.
This year the brand celebrates 65 years of the famous diving watch and to mark the date it brings three new colours in the new size for the collection: green, terracotta and anthracite grey which join the other two black and blue lacquers dials introduced in 2023.
The watch is presented in a round stainless steel case measuring 39mm wide, 12.70mm high and 47mm long, with a mainly polished finish, two screw-down crowns at 2 and 4 o’clock, the first serving to handle the internal bezel and second to set the time, screwed solid case back and 300m water resistance certified by ISO 6425.
The dial is adorned with Arabic numerals on the four cardinal points, baton hour markers on the rest and three centre hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, and last but not least a bidirectional bezel matching the dial.
Inside we find the improved L888.6 automatic movement based on the ETA A31 that is COSC certified running 25,200 Vph and offering up to 3 days of power reserve.
The watches are now available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers and paired with a beads-of-rice steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
