Longines Brings Another Red Dial To Celebrate The Arrival Of The Year Of The Dragon
And if only yesterday we presented the new IWC Portugieser Chronograph that celebrates the arrival of the new Chinese year, today it’s Longines’ turn with a similar layout but with different complications and also in a limited but even more exclusive edition.
The new watch that is part of the Longines Heritage Flagship collection within the Moonphase line debuted last year, features a gradient red dial with gold accents and a medallion on the back case designed with the head of a dragon.
The watch wears a stainless steel case measuring 38.50mm in diameter and 12.40mm thick that comes with a polished finish on the surfaces and brushed on the sides, smooth bezel, sapphire glass, fluted crown with the brand’s signature at 3 o’clock, screwed case back which in addition to the dragon design comes with the message ‘One Of 888’ referring to the limited edition, and finaly, 30m of water resistance.
The red dial whose tone is a sign of good auspices intensifies from the center to the periphery, transforming almost into black, comes with elongated applied hour markers whose golden tone combines with the two faceted Dauphine hands that are filled with a faint line of luminescent material, a white minute track and a moonphase aperture with a pointer date at 6 o’clock adorned with a blue sky with golden moon and stars.
At the heart of the watch runs the Caliber L888.5 automatic movement based on the ETA A31.L91 that comes with the silicon balance spring, reaching 25,200 Vph and offering up to 3 days of power reserve.
The watch which comes attached to a black alligator leather strap with a pin buckle is limited to 888 units and is exclusive to the Asian market, and can be purchased for the price of CNY 23,100.
